Pansy flowers are edible and very attractive on top of a salad. Cilantro for cool weather. Parsley will make it through the year in a container.

Nasturtiums, too. Flowers, leaves, and seeds are all edible.

In my garden I usually grow chives, arugula, basil, bee balm, chamomile, dill, fennel, mints, oregano, rosemary, sage, cilantro and parsley. Edible flowers that do well for me are nasturtiums,pansies, borage, marigold and lavender.

Don't think I could add any more to Silvia's list, except that the flowers of chives, arugula, basil & fennel pollen are all delicious as well.

Only other thing would be roses if you can grow them organically and keep them alive, which I'm not totally sure is possible down here.

But a large percentage of the commercially grown edible flowers you see in restaurants come from SW FL in the winter months.

Yes, you can add organic roses to the list but they will have to grow from cuttings. I have the Louis Philippe roses and never spray them, the only thing that I do is cut them to keep them in boundaries.

It's hard to add much to what has already been said, but in Winter Springs right now my herbs are very happy. My rosemary, oregano, mint, lemon balm, and parsley are going crazy. I let my cilantro and basil seed over the late summer and now I have both sweet basil, cinnamon basil, and cilantro coming up for a second generation. I have quite a few pansies that I planted maybe 6-8 weeks ago (from a nine pack of seedlings at Home Depot) and those are doing great!
