had a similar problem. The engine mount bolt that grounded the PTO black ground wire was loose- causing the pto to work erratically. To see this bolt (13mm i Think) you will have to lie on your back and look under the machine. It is above the front steering arm of the right tire. If the wire is dangling you will need a new bolt. There are alternate ways to wire a 3 way switch that work and are legal. One is used to feed a downstream receptacle. See. The BEST advice is to mark everything before you disconnect anything. We have no way of knowing how your 3 way was wired.

Who ever does do the wiring harness installation and top out make sure that they do not back stab the wiring into the devices (outlets & switches) it is a weak link connection and can cause many problems like loss of power to downstream devices with usage and age. Mixing lighting and outlets on the same circurit breakers is not a good idea either even though it is code legal if the outlet power is lost also the lighting is lost.
