Bathroom wallpaper and 'wainscoting"
Comments (2)Pictures of the situation will help. Some wallpaper can be wallpapered over, but some can't really (at least by a novice.) Some wainscoting material is thin enough to apply actual real wood tongue and groove over. Some is not. It's always best to remove everything first and start over though. That includes the wallpaper and the wainscoting. What tools do you own? A 4' level? A large metal square? A utility knife? A drywall blade? Measuring tape? A plumb bob? You'll need all of those for the wallpaper job, and a few other specialty tools depending on what type of paper you choose. For wainscotting, you'll need a measuring tape, stud finder, level, square, chop saw or circular saw. Some clamps and extra boards for a straight edge. Hammer and nails and nail punch or a nail gun and air compressor. Caulk gun and tube of construction adhesive and one of paintable caulk. And all the stuff to prime and paint it when you are done....See MoreSochi bathroom reveal: shower wallpaper + silestone shower pan
Comments (41)Hi Sochi and Kristin, gorgeous wallpaper projects! I am in correspondence with several Italian fiber glass wallpaper suppliers now and all of them have different waterproofing methods. The main issue I am finding is that the substrate needs to be white in color and smooth. Sochi mentioned the contractor used Schluter KERDI-BOARD but it is orange, so how did you eventually get it white? Krisitin what did your contractor do for substrate? What products were used to waterproof the wall before the application of the glue, wallpaper and sealants? My other concern is that the drywall or cement board (depending on what to use) has to sit on top of my shower pan so I fear it will absorb water is not properly waterproofed. Any guidelines and suggestions will be highly appreciated. Alex...See MoreCool wallpaper selection for manly media room bathroom
Comments (33)If floor has drama, with charcoal or pattern of 2 colors, you don't need this, but here it is. Contemporary print resembles an intricate inlaid tiling of different marbles, with a dramatic contrast in tones. Textural, organic, modern, and dramatic. Eco-friendly, PVC-free. Uses water-based inks. Removes cleanly and completely, without damaging your walls. https://www.houzz.com/products/marble-marquetry-peel-and-stick-wallpaper-2-x12-rolls-prvw-vr~118668092...See Morebathroom wallpaper
Comments (32)Because it's a small room, people (me at least) are thinking it would be fun to go dramatic with that gorgeous vanity. Thus the dramatic style wallpaper that includes some of the green in the vanity. Contrast will work, but either way, the vanity is going to stand out. Your last grasscloth looks like it would work, but as you say, not as much fun. Assuming you'll have a light countertop like in your photo, the vanity will be provided some contrast with that. Almost all of the pics I could find of green vanities are ads designed to sell the vanity, so they do have light walls or wainscotting behind them to really set the vanity off, but you don't need to do that unless you love the look. The green in your vanity is a fresh look, so there aren't a lot of pics of actual powder rooms using it. I'll search a bit more....See MoreRelated Professionals
