Comments (23)I got Evan's Critter Quilt back from the quilter Saturday morning. It turned out great. I bound it last night. It took 4.5 hours of hand stitching to bind it. I started at 10:00 last night and finished at 2:30. My husband is deer hunting so I can stay up really late without getting scolded. I took a Confetti Landscaping class yesterday. It's a technique in which you cut batiks, solids or hand-dyed fabric into toothpick-size pieces and try to copy a photograph. You cover the layers with black tulle and free motion quilt to hold everything in place. It was fun; I met some great women and found a wonderful new quilt shop. Now I'm getting ready to host house guests and Thanksgiving dinner. I have one more placemat to finish for my daughter and a couple of table runners that I would like to have ready for Christmas. No big deal if I don't though. Besides, it's cookie baking time. I usually make 9 varieties for a total of about 75-90 dozen cookies. Guess what everyone gets at Christmas time around my house?...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Feb. 20-22
Comments (18)TG, I did my internship with a man who told me to "always follow a lazy man, he will find the easiest way to do things", and he was right. You do some fabulous applique on those Hawaiian trips. I'm making a raffle wall hanging for our Civitan Club. Gonna make a book case quilt and name the books for their projects. It is due in April so I best get moving. Tim is going to make the hanger for it. beverly...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? March 20-22
Comments (13)Theresa, The blocks are all together and am in the process of sewing the rows together. I only made it 6 blocks X 8 blocks but will probably put a border on it. I haven't been able to work on it for very long at a time as I've had to take a few pain pills to ease discomfort........and then would have to snooze a bit. And, have also been trying to get my hearts together...almost there....sigh. Looks like I posted that Friday was National Quilting Day when it was actually Saturday, the 21st. I guess I started early. I'll get pictures up as soon as I can. Have a good week everyone!...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Jan. 20-22
Comments (5)I have 2 more applique flower blocks to get done this weekend for my local guilds row quilt. Pieces are cut, but I just had a margarita, so not sure how my stitches will be!! :) I also need to figure out sizing for the "ribbon" row on our row quilt and get the instructions printed for that. One of our DS & DIL's friends is pregnant with son#2, so will try to start his baby quilt. I have until July, so that is good! Hope you all have a great weekend! Sue...See Moregeezerfolks_SharonG_FL
