Salvaged interior materials available in Massachusetts

User

Yesterday greenGoat, a Lawrence, MA charity that redistributes materials of houses that are going to be demolished (they call it deconstruction), gave me a tour of a magnificent 1888 Shingle Style house designed by William Ralph Emerson (Ralph Waldo's 1st cousin) in Weston, MA. What is still available at a modest cost is quarter sawn white oak flooring, heavy 4 and 6 panel doors with great wooden knobs, wonderful pantry cabinets and some nice mantels. They have other houses that can be seen on their website. My connection is as the architect of a renovation of an Emerson house in Brookline, MA.
