Sad little mango sprout

Jason C

I have a little mango sprout. At first, it had two big, healthy looking leaves. Unfortunately, about when its third leaf came out, one of the leaves began to turn brown between the veins.

I figured it was likely the exceptionally sub-par coconut-based soil I'd
first put it in. My last attempt to create the gritty mix didn't work
out so well (probably too coarse?), so while I'm testing my new batch on
some hardier plants, I put this guy in soil from the local bonsai
store.

However, the second leaf has largely turned as well. Do you have any ideas as to what's ailing my plant? I'm guessing it's deficient in something. A few weeks ago, I gave it a very, very dilute dose of foliage pro (which I bought based on this forum's recommendation), but it probably wasn't enough to make a difference.

Does anyone have any advice for this plant? Is it a deficiency issue or something else entirely?
