Right now, the most are among Chinas -- 15 -- but there's also 10 or so each of Bourbons, Polyanthas, and Teas. I'm going to need more Polyanthas next year for the last of the "in-the-ground" space, so that class will become the most "popular" then.

Shrubs and minifloras in containers. Moved a few months ago and brought 30 with me, left 70 behind. When I got done digging up my faves, realized I only had two hybrid teas, two floribundas and one OGR. In my defense, though, I'm the co-chair for our local public rose garden of nearly 700 modern roses.

Sara--you have such a lovely collection of HTs--and nice photos.

oldrosarian--you always have the most unusual and beautiful roses. Just fabulous!

I have roughly equal amounts of the following groupings, about a dozen in each category:

• Hybrid teas/grandifloras--including Elle, Double Delight, Peter Mayle, Elina, Valencia, (see below) Berolina, and others.
  

• Austin "reproduction" shrubs--including Munstead Wood, Molineux, Queen of Sweden, The Pilgrim, Pretty Jessica, (see below) Scepter'd Isle,and others.
  

• Floribundas and Modern shrubs--including Eutin, Braveheart, Easter Basket, Home Run, Double Knock Out, (see below) Well Being, and others.
  

• OGRs (Bourbons/Noisette/Polyanthas/Hybrid Perpetual/Hybrid Musks/ Rugosa)--including Clothilde Soupert, Ghislaine de Feligonde, Felicia, Buff Beauty, The Fairy, Boule de Neige, (see below) Mystic Beauty, and others.
  

• Minis--including Green Ice, Gourmet Popcorn, (see below) Sweet Diana, and others.
  

Plus a couple more climbers in addition to the Austin climbers--Eden and Dublin Bay. I guess they might be classified as climbing floribundas, maybe?

Total number of roses--in the 60-65 range.

Of my 54 roses I have about 14 tea roses, 6 Bourbons, 12 Austins, 4 Hybrid Teas and then a mixed bag like Bermuda Kathleen, Blush Noisette, Aloha, International Herald Tribune, Mr. Bluebird, Aunt Margy's Rose, White Meidiland, Carefree Beauty, Pink Rosette, The Faun, Deanna Krause, Marie Pavie, Gruss an Aachen, Pink Gruss an Aachen and a few others.

I keep my plants in an Excel pivot table, so here is my current count. It's geeky, I know, but helps to keep track of things. Some of my class designations might be wrong, too:

Ha! I keep an excel sheet of my roses too. I like to check it over every once and a while and update it if needed. Its fun just to think about the roses in the garden.

Mine is about 1/3 HT, 1/3 Austin and 1/3 shrub or other. I do like my HTs but nothing exudes passion from me as my Austins or "Romanticas" as I like to call them do. (Those would be the Austinesque roses that are by other breeders such as Eden, Dames De Chenonceau, Papi Delbard, Bolero, etc.)

In my "other" category I list drift roses and other ground cover roses. I've had very little luck with miniatures, but I do have 3 or 4, but I put those in that category.

oldrosarian- just to be clear, Madame Butterfly is not a tea rose, it is a Hybrid Tea. I know you know that, but using the word "tea" when we really mean HT, is confusing to newbies, and I jump on it every time I see it. Sorry to be annoying. Your roses are gorgeous!

The most roses I have in one class in my garden are tea roses, because they like my climate. They bloom 11 months of the year here, when we have "normal" weather (which we have not had for 4 years), the make lovely round very large bushes, and I love their soft and sometimes variable colors.

I actually have 100 now because my friend just dropped off the miniflora Abby's Angel the other day.

This is what I have in the garden right now getting ready for their winter nap.

Ht's---26 (13 varieties)

Grandiflora's--- 1

Floribunda's--- 8 (5 varieties)

Miniflora's--- 20 (+3 in quart pots growing roots)

That is a total of 94 roses in the ground or in 10 gal. pots. This will take a fairly big jump this spring. I have on order; 9 HT's, 2 Flora., 2 OGR's, 1 DA Shrub, 1 shrub, 3 mini's (+ my 2 Kitty Hawks). That should give me a total of 114 roses to take care of. That will be plenty. Probably to many.

I have duplicates of several varieties of HT's and floribundas. I am particularly fond of the Bourbon roses, which seem to do good here, also the Hybrid Perpetuals. I would like to have success with Austin roses, because they are truly lovely.

Among my 200+ roses 32 are gallicas (and hybrids), 28 are climbers of many classes, arvensis, boursault, wichurana, setigera, helenae, multiflora, beggeriana and a few moderns of mixed origin. 13 bourbons, 12 rugosas, 11 floribundas, 10 spinosissimas, 9 centifolias, 8 albas, 8 HT's, 7 modern shrubs, 5 Austins, 4 damasks, 4 HP's, 3 musks. The rest are various species and near species roses and a few I don't know what class they are. I have multiples of several of the floribundas, 6 to 10 bushes of some.

My rose list (badly) needs updating. At a guess I would say that my single biggest group are the Gallicas, possibly followed by Teas. I haven't got my ground in good enough shape for the latter to do well, but the once-blooming old roses of European origin are the best suited to our conditions, and of those the Gallicas are the largest class. So I have a lot of once-blooming old roses (Gallicas, Damasks, Albas, Centifolias, Mosses), which I love and which do well here, a lot of Teas and also Chinas, which I'm working to make the environment friendlier for, mainly lightening the soil. Quite a few ramblers, Multiflora, Wichuriana, species and hybrids, Noisettes, Lady Banks roses. A few 'Mlle. Cecile Brunner'-type old Polyanthas, a few Foetidas, and I wish I had more of both. Rugosas don't like it here, and I have my doubts about Spinosissimas; few HTs, no Floribundas, not because I reject them out of hand, but because I think conditions here aren't ready for them. Oh, I forgot: Bourbons, Hybrid Perpetuals, Hybrid Damasks. I have a few of the first, more of the second, and I like the HDs. These are heterogenous groups I don't know that much about, but there are some I like and I'm trying to figure out which ones. I have many of the Pemberton Hybrid Musks, which I love but don't grow well, and a few shrub roses, a group I don't know much about and haven't seen much of that was inspiring.

Oh: practically no Austins. They're beautiful roses but it's too rough here for them.

Mariannese, you may have posted that photo before, but it is the first time I've seen it, so thanks for posting it again. Your garden looks like a place that fairies would live in.
