Merry Christmas - and who wanted the White One?
Comments (12)Season's Greetings to all, we've have over 2 feet of snow, rain is in the forecast and then more snow. It has just warmed up a bit so maybe we can get the ice shoveled off the front porch. More likely than not we have a green Christmas here which I appreciate more and more as my bones get older and older. Last week they announced we've had the 6th snowiest December in recorded history for our city, 'the month ain't over yet'. Tonight is the night I drag out my tape of Holiday Inn a Boxing Day ritual for me. I'll be sitting in front of a crackling fire with a turkey sandwich, a couple of pickle onions, a glass or two of wine that is, depending on how my day goes, at eight tonight it might be just a glass of milk LOL....See MoreDHs - You can't live with them and you can't kill them!!!
Comments (28)He mistook crocus bulbs for potatoes, Jannie? OMG, that's a riot! And the best part is catching him in the act! lolol Mine doesn't throw my stuff away but he puts it away WHILE I'm using it or before I'm done with it. It's not like I leave stuff lying around. For example, the other night I was making a pasta dish. I put the colander in the sink so I could drain the angel hair. Went to get the pot about 2 minutes later and the colander was gone! Gone! Where's the colander? Oh, he says- I thought you were done with it so I washed it and put it away. (Oh, I know what you're thinking, "Isn't he helpful! And look, he washes dishes!) Yeah, yeah..... it's not helpful to wash a perfectly clean item and move it as I'm preparing to dump boiling hot water in it! I asked him if he noticed the pasta boiling on the stove and he said he didn't, but he can spot a standing colander from 50 paces! He puts away salad fixings, too, before I've made the salad. It's ridiculous, I pull them out, he puts them away. I ask where's my lettuce and he says "I thought you were done with it." Um, see any bowls of lettuce anywhere, Einstein? lol Men. Grrrrr. Don't EVER let him retire, Clare! Find him a job. Give him a honey-do list that won't quit. Anything, but keep him busy outside! Oh, and how come Mr. "Place For Everything and Everything In Its Place" can't close the closet door in the LR? I close that bi-fold door about 20 times a day but if I say anything, I'm a nag....See MoreCan't stand BF's spouse. Do you get over it, say something, drop BF?
Comments (36)We covered this long ago. He said that she was looking for someone to side with her so it HAD to be a man to ensure some measure of impartiality. There were no male marriage counselors within a convenient driving distance. She said that male or female, it made no sense to go by herself because "fixing herself" wouldn't fix him. You see, she does want to complain but too lazy or powerless or combo to do anything about it. My decision was made long ago to not intervene. I was curious as to what others did. Postings have been interesting. One time she was crying, no, sobbing that her house was a mess and nobody wanted to help her. I was struck by her pain so volunteered 3 Saturday afternoons (in a row) to help her clean. We vacumed, laundered linens, moved heavy furniture from 2nd floor to bottom floor and grown children/a@@hole just looked on. A month later we went upstairs to discuss paint and the rooms were the same mess I had encountered the very first time. Nobody did anything. Lesson learned and I was so proud of myself that I said nothing when I really wanted to scream at the top of my lungs, lol. In her defense, had it been me crying about dirty home, she would have come, not 3 afternoon, but 3 entire days to help me. But she would do it as an escape from her house. It seems so ungrateful to question her motives but I've never asked her so neither here nor there. And she is really a lovely woman--warm, funny, smart, not a malicious hair in her body, but oh, what a hot mess, lol!...See MoreMerry, Merry Christmas, everyone
