A Roseville fan! And Dahlrose, one of my favorites!

We have a Bradington-Young sofa and cocktail ottoman (I remember from another thread that's the brand you're looking at) in navy, and I love it --very rich looking. And, from observing other items in your room, you probably own many blue items to go with it. My concern would be the fading in such a light-filled room.

And, BTW, navy used to be considered nearly a neutral in clothing since it goes with so many other colors.

Yes, I am a fan of Roseville Dahlrose. And blue Bushberry, and Sunflower too! Ooooh, I'd love to see a pic of your blue BY sofa. Which blue did you go with? I got some samples in the mail yesterday and the navys all look about the same. Only difference I guess is the finish and grade. Navy is navy maybe. Do you think they would fade? The couches don't get any direct sunlight, but the room is very light.

Are those RC Christmas plates too? I think navy would be pretty with the rug and you already have a lot of that tan color

Shee, I think they are 24, with a 26 inch Pottery Barn insert. I'm not there right now, but I based them off a pricey Lacefield design pillow (even found the exact trim off Etsy!), which measures 24 by 24. BTW, the blue one is a Ralph Lauren ticking stripe.

We just bought a modern sofa in a fabric from Americanleather.com. Actually thru a designer. Most sofas were way too deep for us and we wanted to sit upright and not slouch. Check it out.

I think blue leather would be perfect in your room, but would go with a lighter shade of navy than Dee's sofa. Hers is perfect for her LR but I would go lighter. I am also a Christmas plate collector and have RC, Bing and Grondahl and Porsgrund plates. Those blues are TDF!

Dee - thank you for the pic. Love your room and I do like your navy couch. I'm a little more sure about navy after seeing yours. You don't get much on Houzz when you do a search.

Kippy - Love how you arranged your RC plates. My mother was Danish and she had quite a collection. When she passed away, we all took a share of them.

kswl2 - I thought the same thing about not wanting them to be too dark. I got six samples of navy leather from BY and they are all dark. Navy is dark. Not sure what to do.

It looks like your island is a shade of white. Would cream colored sofas possibly work for you, and then you could pull the navy in with a throw and pillows?

I was looking at Bradington Young leather sofas on craigslist a few months ago. The navy ones that were for sale were very, very faded. (Who knows if they were placed by windows, though...) I'm thinking a cream wouldn't fade. ; )

I think navy would look great in your room. I personally prefer the small rolled arms, instead of the straight arms, they dont look too comfortable.

Dee thanks! I they're nice! I guessed 22". I was trying to see if could guess right. Still trying to visual on pillow size. I'm going to have to make some inexpensive mock up pillows!

laughable - no, I don't think we could do cream. Large dog, messy husband, etc. No way!

I am transitioning from a brown leather sectional of 13+ years to a deep blue -- not a true navy, that I just got told will deliver Wednesday! If you are a blue person, I think that woud be the way to go. It can be hard to find a blue leather that isn't such a dark navy that you worry it will look black at least some of the time or too bright to work in most traditional/transitional settings. Do you have access to Moore & Giles leathers? They have some nice blues. Mine is Kipling Dolpin, a deep blue grey, (I have two large dogs, a pool and lots of flower beds in the backyard -- I couldn't doo cream or white either).

With that beautiful rug I'd try maroon leather sofa's.
