Vanity--real legs or fake front legs with toekick behind
Comments (13)I responded on your kitchen forum post but thought I would copy my response here for those that are only looking on this forum Just finished cleaning under my furniture look vanity about 10 minutes ago. I don't find it difficult at all. For routine cleaning I just run a swiffer sweeper with their dry dusting cloth on it under the cabinet. It easily fits under the cabinet opening. Just use one of their wet cloths when you want it mopped. My vacuum cleaner wand also fits under the opening with no problem so sometimes when I am vacuuming my MB I just vacuum the bathroom too. I am one of those who also uses the vacuum to get hair or dust out of my whirlpool tub when needed- works great for that. When I originally had my vanity installed the installer thought cleaning under it might be an issue and suggested putting in a recessed to kick. We tried it but did not like the way it looked so he uninstalled it...See MoreXmas tree: Real or Fake?
Comments (34)aww...cute picture! the last couple of years we have actually bought our tree during the week after thanksgiving... i never take it down until at least a week after new years. as long as you keep it watered every day and never let it 'go dry' (i read years ago that using hot water allows the tree to drink up the water more easily...) frazier firs can retain most of their needles a long time! i keep our house around 67 during the day and cooler at night and close the 'vents' to the heat register near the tree... and, of course, i don't light a bunch of candles near the tree! when i vacuum up the few needles on the ground during the season, they collect in the bag and then release the pine scent every time i vacuum! lol the trash men pick up trees(to recycle) a few times after christmas-through mid jan- so we just drag it out to the curb....See MoreFake or real stone swimming pool?
Comments (34)sabbath7, your pool and fireplace is very pretty! Are those real rocks under the hot tub area? I like how the water flows over the stones. Mtn, that second picture you posted is one I've come across before and I believe it was a natural pool, AKA there is no pool cleaning system and the vegetation keeps the water clean. I briefly entertained the idea of doing something that b/c I love that picture, but gave up quickly b/c it seemed like too much hassle, impractical for us, and possibly kind of gross. These are very helpful suggestions, thanks! I have to be careful what I do around the pool's edging as far as vegetation b/c the dogs like to run circles around the pool when they swim in FL and they also like to roll around in grassy/plant areas when they are wet so I need to make sure they don't have garden areas where they can roll around and get filthy as they run around the pool. Garden/greenery has to be incorporated where they cannot get into it to make a mess. Our PB has us sourced to use PA Bluestone irregular slab pool coping and decking so we're good on that! I think he'll be good at picking out the rocks that look right b/c he knows we were very fanatical about the rocks for our water falls (like I said, we insisted on only rock sourced directly from our land for those... unfortunately, we don't have enough big rocks left on our land to do the pool). I will stress no orange-ish rocks and minimal or no rounded stone! I don't like round stones, they don't look as natural/rustic to me. We're trying to get the pool water color to be kind of like my first picture, do you think that was done w/ grey interior? I told PB I wanted water similar to that color, not sure what is planed for that yet. I'm not sure DH will go for rocks with lichen, he tends not to like mossy rocks and rejected the mossy once which were found when we did the water features. Don't know why he doesn't like b/c I think they look natural and add interest, but must compromise :)...See MoreWhy is real better than fake?
Comments (46)In Vegas last September.....I think I drove a real Ferrari?!!??! ;-) To the point tho'. Sometimes fake can be deadly, or just worthless very quickly. Case in point, the Stihl brand. It's obviously a very copied brand. We sell Stihl, & have for 20 years. Sometimes people come in with an internet ad or something, wondering why we're more expensive. We have a quick answer......Stihl doesn't sell REAL products on the web. ONLY in real-life stores. It's sometimes hard to convince people of that, but it's true. We ask them what site it is, & Stihl goes after them. Stihl does random tests on the fake crap, & it usually fails.....QUICKLY! I shudder when I think of a fake chainsaw, passed off as real, and then something bad happening...... Faron...See MoreButternut
