Today is 70 degrees!

A nasty rainy day yesterday, and now unseasonably warm. Sorry but I don't appreciate this raise in temperature here in the northeast.

Tomorrow down to the upper 50's.

today is sort of cold... actually, normal temp for the day. We had an amazing October so far. Unseasonable warm, and I totally enjoyed it. It is 52 right now, and sposed to get 65 today. Yesterday was 74.

I hate the 70 degree temps in almost November. I have blooming flowers all over the yard. Scares me to think of the climate change which is already here with devastating results. There will be no seasons...just extremely hot and cold, drought and floods. We were bone dry for a month and got downpours yesterday.

Your snow melted? Good for you, we still have mostly-snowcover, although I do expect melt-out this week. It's not a problem to have a little top growth post winterization, it happens to me a lot. Normally, in spring to fall, feeding would set off a large amount of growth. In this case, most of it still went to winterize the grass. And yes, this is a very strange year. I have a pear tree currently de-leafing onto snowcover. I'm going to have to mow once more to remove the leaves--and the tiny bit of growth I got during those two warm days. Eh, well, we do the best we can.

It would depend on the climber, but I think it would be too frail. I tried to use a tomato cage type structure (not the cone shaped one, the 3 sided rectangle one) to hold up my Teasing Georgia after I had to cut it off it's old umbrella trellis (which was destroyed in a near tornado). I thought the cage would keep it upright, but the rose nearly took it over and I had to wind up cutting off most of it to get the cage off :(

I wait until the oven reaches the Setting. Then I'll check it about 5 or 8 minutes after that, so that it is constant. If you have an Electric Stove, don't check it while the Burners are Red, because it is bringing the Temp. up, after the Oven has cooled, so it may be hotter at the top shelf of the oven. Wait until the burner shuts down for a minute.( not Red ) If you have a Gas Range; same thing, wait till it reaches the Setting and the burners go off or the flame goes lower. Sounds like a good day, Martha. We have had several days in the 70s and the plants are popping up. I finished my winter sowing on Thursday and spent today direct sowing bachelor buttons, snapdragons and cosmos as well as peas. Expecting rain tonight and for the next three days. Also removed the last of the leaves and saw some poppy seedlings. Took some time to look through the beds to see which perennials are returning and how last fall's winter sown seedlings are doing. Growing perennials from seed via winter sowing has filled my yard with flower beds. Each day is a day of discovery as plants appear, grow larger, and bloom. A special joy finding the first of this year's winter sown containers has seedlings--dianthus "Firewitch", adding to and replacing ones that were winter sown many years ago.

Not good, OJ. It is warming up here in So. Oregon and the sun is making progress against all the clouds and showers we have had recently. Mild temp too and nice in the sun. Gotta get the yard put to bed for the winter really soon.

We have very windy too. Transitioning from yesterday's tropically damp very windy to tomorrow's desert heat very windy. When I got home, today, my car said it was 86° F. When it was 83° it still felt cool because of the wind. When it hit 85° it just felt like chamsin. At least the nights have been cool this week. By that, I mean mid-60's.

We had great weather in Long Island NY too. After a semi-rainy morning, the sun came out and warmed things up. My daughter took my Grand-daughter out for a walk.

It's 80 here today. Supposed to be in the mid to low 70's all week. This isn't unusual for us; it often doesn't get really cool here until around Thanksgiving. Sometimes we have a cool snap and then Dec. can be pretty warm as well. I do love the warm temps so I'm very happy.
