Checked something off my 'bucket list'
Comments (18)Jo, you are so pretty. The exercise and chill look like they put a nice glow on your cheeks. That looks like so much fun and I'd love to try it. There is a small lake near my home and we used to skate there. Unfortunately the new owners no longer allow skating. I can't blame them since they are exposiong themselves to tremendous risk in this litlgious age. Also, it doesn't get as cold as it used to so the lake isn't often solid enough to skate anyway. I skated a lot as a kid at a local rink. Figure skating. I even earned my preliminary level ribbon. I skated with my kids when they were little but haven't been on skates in many years. It's on my bucket list to do again before I croak. Thanks for posting that picture....See MoreCheckin' off the Bucket List
Comments (19)DLM...I envy you! My #1 on my list is to swim with manta rays and #2 is to swim with sharks...to hold one...OH! I'm an avid concert goer...even up close seats don't guarantee a good view (that's what the Jumbo-trons are for! For up-close you pay the big bucks for VIP packages). I want to be close to the action, to FEEL the music and dance. I had excellent seats for the concert I went to a few months ago, but I'm so near sighted I still couldn't see well. Terri...I want to go to the tree house! I'm thinking maybe next summer. There are no zip line places up here. My bucket list includes: Backstage with Def Leppard (I am a complete rock fan!) Explore Greece Visit the Mayan ruins Make authentic cannoli Take a lesson in glass blowing from Dale Chihuly Own a Chihuly piece Travel into space Walk on the moon Own a vintage ski boat (and ski Lake Coumo with it!) Own a 1964 Chevy pick up See the San Diego Chargers at the Super Bowl (Heck, just ATTEND the Super Bowl in person some time) Visit Ground Zero I was very fortunate to grow up in So California, so I got to see many, many bands & concerts, travel along some gorgeous coastal highways and tour the Getty Museum. Been to Hawaii & snorkled (scuba is also on the list, tho) and once I get to the Def Leppard concert, any other band I get to see in concert will be gravy...I'll have checked off all my fantasy bands. Have seen: The Who; The Beach Boys; 3 Dog Night; Styx; Aerosmith; Foreigner; Journey; Night Ranger; The Spinners; Kenny Rogers; Chicago; The Doobies; The Oakridge Boys; Eddie Rabbit (I went thru a country phase in the late 70's-shudder!); and others I can't recall now. I know there were several festival types I went to also, with many bands playing, but I can't remember...uhhhh...it was in my youth, mind you! Never did get to see Pink Floyd, Zepp, the Clash or the Ramones, but some things can't be helped....See MoreKT Bucket List
Comments (28)Audrey, I am amazed that you still have the list from when you were 16. Actually, at that age I never thought in terms of a "bucket list." We travel a lot, but as I get older, it gets harder. I have relatives from Wisconsin who have been to all 50 states and to over 100 countries. We are a long way from those stats. I would like to learn how to work with metal. Would also like to take DH to see the Northern Lights. I saw them by chance when I was about 14; he has never seen them. PS I rode a horse when I was 12; did not know how to tell it to stop. Was scared silly....See MoreDo you have a Bucket List?
Comments (37)Jim, At what age did your dad attain before he left for more permanent dwelling? I have outlived my parents, brother, but working on grandparents,, had a uncle that played a round of golf on his 100th birthday. My brother was murdered at the age of 43, so no telling how long he would have lived had that not happened. (Maybe that's why I am so adamant about illegal and unvetted immigration.) I love NOLA as well. Love the architecture and music, and all around ambience of the city. It's funny about NOLA, I can walk for miles, and my feet won't ache, but just let me walk around Costco or Sam's, different story, LOL Sabbath, have you tried designing your own cards? I have greeting card programs that I love to use. One is Greeting Card Factory and the other is Platinum Printmaster. Tobey got me a new Smartphone ( that I need to learn to use )and it takes pretty good photos that I can have fun with using Image pro 9. I've made Calendars as gifts using picture of folks kids and pets, kinfolk, special moments, etc. using my old Samsung digi camera. I haven't done calendars for awhile though. The sky is the limit when you have the right tools. BUT WARNING, It can be so addicting. LOL...See Moregeezerfolks_SharonG_FL
