By the way, I can not return the oven. I am looking for an aesthetically pleasing solution for the bottom.

I think if you do a platform like that (and I don't think you have any other choice) I'd try to find a way to face it in stainless so it blends in with the stove. Or with the floor tile, so it blends in with the floor. The white stands out too much. Also I am not sure why it protrudes beyond the cabinets - if it could be flush with the toe kick it would be less noticable.

My other concern is how to you pull the unit out for cleaning/maintenance? Maybe you jimmy up a ramp for those few times you need to pull it out. Your kitchen is quite lovely. Once you resolve this and start using the kitchen, I'm sure you will stop noticing the platform and start enjoying the space.

I did not move the legs on the oven. That is how the oven came. Also, that is a drawer at the bottom of the oven, which I need to be able to open. So I am not sure if a toe kick would work. Everyone has been paid. This kitchen fiasco has been going on since Feb. It's been one nightmare after the next and of course no one wants to take responsibility. I could also tell you a horrific story about my tile installation which was another insane disaster. I choose not to though - I am here to get ideas about how to make this oven issue look nice and then move on with my life. Thank you everyone :)

Not sure how to get it to work mechanically, but to look at the positive - once you figure out a way to build an appropriate platform for the unit, you won't have to bend down quite so far to reach the storage drawer. Just trying to find an upside! I'd look for a solution like your neighbor's, but set back as far as possible and with a tile or stainless finish in front.

There are toe kick cabinets that will allow you the bonus of flat pan/cooling rack storage. You would keep the legs at the shortest position and mount the oven on the drawer. I googled to see if anyone made extra long leveling legs and apparently, they don't. However, I found this response on a forum to someone who had a similar problem:

Are the legs metal or plastic? If plastic, you will probably have touse some wood shims to raise up the range. If metal, I usually take oneof the legs to local hardwars store and match up the thread count andbolt size and purchase 4 longer carriage style bolts and make my ownlonger legs. A small piece of felt glued to the carriage bolt head willprotect the floor when moving the range.

the legs look forward because the range is deeper than the cabinets, its how they are.

i don't think the platform in the other condo looked 'horrible'. it looks about like mine that i mentioned above. it would look better painted a color more in keeping with the floor.

if your range was lower/correct you'd still be able to see the feet a bit when you stood back at a distance. so... well.

I do not mind seeing the legs. I have no issue with that. I just need a handsome platform or something to set the oven on I guess?

glossy, it's a little hard to tell, but the space does look a little skimpy for a drawer. Your best best is to have a platform made, and I think a stainless steel front would look best. If it's any help, your kitchen looks great...really!

Probably wishful thinking, but you might contact KitchenAid for any suggestions. You never know!

Hi Chloe, I contacted kitchenaid/whirlpool they were no help at all. Good idea though.

I looked at your image again. Kitchen Aid legs are +/- 1" from the looks of it you need another 1/2" to 3/4". That total gap would not be enough for a drawer. You could set the stove on a full sheet of lumber then create a hinged front "door" to meet with the bottom of the stove front panel. Basically the same concept as a drawer and would allow and least a few nested pans to be stored.

There is already a drawer, so i don't need another space. I just need a platform and a metal "kick plate" to hide the platform.

build 5 sided box, remove front legs on range,not the back, leave those.slide box into place. box supports front and back legs support the rest. Paint box appropriate color, Ten dollar fix, some measuring required.

Do you have a photo of a "5 sided box?" I am a little confused.

Box will support front half of stove, a simple platform, five sided means 4 side and a top.It will look like a kickplate.

Just have a carpenter build a box to fit. Get from your kitchen vendor a piece of toe kick which will give it a finished front and voila!

Or you could do what the pro says, I'm sure they have plenty metal machine shops in the area.

I just googled "Stainless Steel Furniture Feet" Maybe its possible to purchase some other feet for your stove or just make those pieces of wood under your stove feet smaller in width and just hide the stove feet that you have there now with decorative ones. Just a thought..

glossy, sorry...it was totally wishful thinking to contact KA. I'm not surprised...Whirlpool was useless when I needed them. I say contact a carpenter...having the platform made is simple. Maybe he can also help with a front piece that will look like it's part of your stove. Like I always say, "Jeez...if they can get to the moon, this should be a cake walk!"

Sandy, If my counters were not 2 inches thick, I think the oven would have been a fit. As I explained in my original post - the cabinet maker and marble company that did the counters did not communicate. I had a GC that did nothing. It was all a big confusing mess and my first time renovating a kitchen and I am single so no help from a spouse etc etc- I have a lot going on in my life and choose not to sue people and deal with small claims court. Just want to get this taken care of and move on with my life. May not be how others would handle but for me this is the best way.

It is nice to have the stove top the same level as the counter but you could lower it and have an under counter look.

The solution is part of a design flaw. Manufacturers build to a rough spec to satisfy most applications. The higher The cost of the appliance, the more design options or tolerable for a custom installation. The low-cost slide in range is designed to fit more units and be cost-effective. Scope, schedule, budget. Sliding ranges are designed with budget in mind. But I have found is being concerned with these types of situations call me means you weren’t willing to spend the money it takes from the design standpoint with custom cabinetry to custom appliances.

Under $4000 For a range Will leave you with standard style installations.

Not liking the feet doesn’t mean that they are wrong. I have run into these situations before where the homeowner wasn’t willing to spend $10,000 on the range in order to have the perfect design.

We recently remolded our kitchen and had the same issue. Solution, anti vibration pads that are made for washing machines We found some that have coated steel plates to help prevent wear due to the weight of the stove, check Amazon. They will give you about 1/2 in additional height without creating any instability. Hope this helps anyone out there, I know I have lost a lot of sleep over this issue.

My solution was to buy appliance rubber feet intended for washing machine vibration (Amazon) , and add 1.75" washer inserts "(Home Depot) for height and weight distribution. They replaced by temporary wood pieces. See pics

We bought a new range for our modest vacation house. The new unit had short plastic (basically stubs) for rear feet with very limited height adjustment. In front there were threaded bolt type feet. The new range was now 5/8 inch lower than the countertop - unacceptable. Like others on this thread I searched for longer replacement feet - no luck. My solution was to make raised sleds from scrap wood for the rear and new longer carriage bolts adding rubber feet to the bottom similar to stJohnson's suggestion. I waxed the surface of the rear sleds to make it easier to slide the range back into place. Here's a picture of the new stove before I corrected the height to bring it into line with the countertop and a picture of the sled (shims) I made from scrap wood. I forgot to take a picture after leveling the range. I'll add one Later.

Thank you for the comment Joe. The walls are old style 'mud' over wire mesh with plaster coating. It's almost like concrete - very hard. We're adding a back splash, just waiting on the tiles to come in. There's a vent above the stove that exhausts to the outside as well. It's not in the original pictures. The old stove worked fine for 30 years without a problem.

I have an idea if anyone is still looking for a solution. Try a universal vibration mount meant for a washing machine. This will raise the stove about 1 1/2 " and should do the trick.

I just went to my local hardware store and got a 2in PVC cap that happened to be octagon shape on the bottom Got 5 2 inch washers put on the inside removing the kitchen aide stove legs Center them inside the 2-inch PVC cap with v 2 inch washers epoxy them in place works great

Simply put, do this, forget the go to a machine shop BS, Build a platform for the range to sit on. Make the platform the height you need to get the range flush with your countertop. Discard the leveling legs. If the platform is made level you shouldn't need them to begin with. Then, make a mini toe kick to go across the front of the range. A platform should only take a few minutes to make. This post courtesy of a retired Home Depot Kitchen Designer.

By adding anti-vibration pads, how does that impact the anti tip bracket? Wouldn’t the raised stove be too high for the bracket?

Same problem here. I have a GE profile and 2” thick counters, and to the max height the stove still sits about 3/4”

below the counter. From what I see I have plastic leveling legs. I think the rubber pads would make it difficult to slide in an out for cleaning, so I liked the idea from Cheryl but I am not sure I understand exactly what she did. Please help.
