Sewing Extra-Large Tablecloths

C F

Does anyone have any experience sewing their own tablecloths? I have just purchased a dining table that extends to 131" with both leaves in it, and I want a decent tablecloth to protect it during Thanksgiving dinner. If I do a formal style that extends to the floor on all sides (it's rectangular), I will need a tablecloth that measures 191"x108". This is clearly a very large size and not easy to come by (or cheap on custom tablecloth websites).

I'm thinking even if I were to order a custom cloth, it has to be seamed somewhere, right? So if I were to make the cloth myself using 56" home decor fabric, I would need at least 1 seam width-wise and 3 seams length-wise. Any thoughts on how best to hide these seams? I'm thinking the flattest way is to serge the edges of fabric, stitch once and press open, but even then, I don't want to end up with a patchwork-looking piece.
