Installing an exhaust fan in the HFGH 10x12 (photos)
Comments (19)Thanks Pat and Nancy! Gardenerwantable, sorry the pic isn't clear. Yup, the punch-outs for the cords to pass through are already out, no problem there. (And I know just what you mean about the option of mounting it 90° and having two punch-outs.) The problem isn't where the cords go, it's the plugs themselves, and it's only because these two have to be piggy-backed together. My thermostat isn't hardwired into the fan. It's designed so you first plug the thermostat into the outlet, and then you plug the (fan, heater, whatever) into the back of the thermostat plug. So, the two plugs are piggy-backed together. The two plugs together are almost 5" long, but the clear bubble cover on these in-use outlet covers is only 2 1/2 to 3" deep. One plug by itself works great (cover closes and it looks lovely.) Two big plugs piggybacked together, no go! I'm still thinking. Jack, thanks for your concern. You are right about electricity and water. All of our wiring is protected in 3/4" conduit, with GFCI outlets and (the ill-fitting) in-use outlet covers to be as safe as possible. You might be seeing the heavy cords of the fan and thermostat, which will be secured with plastic cable ties as soon as I figure out where the thermostat should live. I am far too chicken to have loose wires running about! I think Gardenerwantabe's ceiling fan blades just have a relaxed attitude toward life, which is a goal of mine. :-)...See MoreNew Computer-Nero10-Other programs already installed?
Comments (35)Ok...I just copied what it said I needed from the instructions. The installation from my old Dell was all on one disk. I'd be afraid I'd mess up the installation if it ended up on multiple CDs. Maybe I should say that there would be more chance for error on my part. The instructions also said that the USB key should have a minimum capacity of 8 GB. Well, when I go to Control Panel, I see there are 45 programs now with total space of 1.12 GB. So what gives with them saying I need a minimum of 8GB? I'm guessing that it would all go on one of the disks at the link below. About them...it says, "This recordable DVD features AccuCORE technology which is 100x more scratch resistant than standard discs. Fights static, repels stains and fingerprints" Here is a link that might be useful: 25 DVD+RW Re-Recordable DVD 4.7GB...See MoreTen Reasons I am Afraid to Buy a Front Load Washer - HELP!
Comments (45)I've had a Kenmore front loader for 15 years that has been a great washing machine. It originally cost about $600 in 2001, and has just kept on chugging. Right at the moment, it is dripping a bit from the bottom from a leaking outer tank, but not enough leakage that it doesn't dry out between uses. Since it's on a slab, not a big issue, but I expect to be replacing it within a year or so, Can't really complain about that length of service for what we originally put into it. I'll be looking for another front loader, this one has gotten our clothes clean without damaging them with minimal water use. No smell, but we leave the door and the soap drawer ajar between uses so that they dry out inside. Yes, it does vibrate, but it doesn't rip out pipes and walls or walk around, just makes some noise on fast spin. I haven't got enough money to buy a washing machine that doesn't make any noise. And yes, there's a certain amount of luck involved with any major appliance purchase, and I'm well aware that we've been lucky with this one. Lemons do happen. But you can take a lot of the doubt out (except the probability of getting a lemon *smile*) by doing your research up front. Good luck!...See MoreWindows 8.1 disappeared completely from system after Win 10 install
Comments (7)Yes. Thank you. I was going "in" the wrong door. Going through settings I do see go back to Windows 8.1. I only realized that win 7 was listed because I was in there for another reason and happened to see win 7. I actually do like 10 and so far no problems except one.. and, of course, right now, I can't remember the exact error message, but it is something about a license missing at start up....the license is for something with adk? no, that doesn't look right.... alright, found it through my history AMD Quick Stream error after upgrade to Windows 10- the license information to use this software is not found What does this mean? Honestly It has been so long since I've had any kind of problem that this error message makes me go UGH.... why did i upgrade to 10?? Course, I don't actually know that it is a problem, since i don't even know what it is, what it does, am I missing someting? am I going to have problems because of this message? If not, why the message? Thanks to both of you and I would appreciate any additional help with this if you can...See More- 10 years ago
