Wow, your dinners all sound so good! I love the chicken in the slow cooker, steak, pasta sauce. Stir-fries are always good, and anything can be used in it. So versatile. Baked salmon and asparagus sounds delicious! I've got asparagus in the frig, that I'll either cook with orzo, or maybe roast it. We love it roasted. The last time we did that I made Angela's roasted asparagus breaded with breadcrumbs and parmesan. Thank you SO much for the best wishes guys. I just read them to him and he's touched. I know things will be good and he'll have a good recovery. This is a top-notch hospital AND it's all done by robot. Not laproscopy but a robot, not a human hand. He think that's very cool. LOL The time wearing the catheter and the recovery time is greatly reduced by choosing this method. And he's home the following morning, vs spending 3 days in the hospital with the traditional surgery.

Rhizo, Happy Anniversary! I made potato salad and 15# of ribs on the smoker. DIL brought beans and rice DS made his pretzel sticks, DD brought fruit salad and cool whip and soy milk to make chocolate pie with the pudding mixed DIL brought. I had the graham crust. I have leftovers! DH had to work this afternoon but worked hard before he went by getting the ribs ready and on the smoker and our big canopy put up so we had shade for the day. Tami

Prairie Rose, do you barbecue all winter long, or was it because the weather was nicer today? Morz I love a well-done roast, and the slow cooker makes it easy. I also love cranberries in my salad. Have you tried them with roasted brussels sprouts? That's a favourite with us. Monica I made sweet potato fries last week and we loved them. The last time I tried baking them, they oozed out over my oven. I didn't realize they cooked so much faster than white potatoes. Rhizo, I love reading your dinner threads. You are so darn healthy! Shirley, I wasn't sure if today classified as a "holiday" today (Family Day) so I made sure I roasted my vegetables before 5 pm to at least get the mid-rate hydro rate. I hate the smart meters. Moni, I add cheddar cheese to my broccoli soup. Probably negates any positive benefits of the broccoli, but it sure tastes good.

What's throwing me off from making it, much as I'd like to, is that we only have kidney beans, as far as a red bean, and I know that isn't the kind to use. I made quinoa with toasted almonds and red currants the other day. We like quinoa. Kath, for some reason companies change their recipes. In the event of making things healthier, taste gets compromised. Less fat and salt is less flavour it seems. Prairie Rose, do you make the light fluffy dumplings?
