Does a movie ever haunt you in a bad way?
Comments (63)BB, I get what you're saying, but humanely ending an animal's suffering is a gift of love. I would have preferred for Artie's euthanasia to take place at home like the last two, but God sent me an angel that morning at LSU. The doctor, who I had just met, was full of empathy and compassion. She let me say goodbye to Artie in a private room ... just the two of us. And when it was time she let me hold him as his body was put to sleep. I can't imagine not being there for him in the end no matter how painful it was....See MoreDo you ever feel funny when...
Comments (8)Oh, that gave me a good chuckle! I'm glad you didn't kill him! I love to quilt with others, talk quilting with others, but I honestly am too stuborn to want their suggestions (unless it is on a technique.) I had one quilt that I was trying to do quickly, and had the idea of eagle's wings spread out - as seen from the back. Because of quick, I used square quilt block to make the wings, after all it was to represent wings, not be the exact image of wings. Then I added a lamb (done in the colors of the quilt) laying down under each wing. It ended up being really wide and not very long, so I cut it down the middle and made it into two so each quilt was a mirror of the other. My family said they just couldn't see the wing - so I showed them my diagrams and pointed it out in the fabric version. They just shook their heads and then told me it looked more like Godzilla was about to eat the lamb! I gave the quilts to a mother and daughter who are going through a rough time, and I never told them what was on the quilt - I figured they could just call it abstract!...See MoreDoes this ever happen to you?
Comments (17)Every now and then, maybe once a month or so I go to bed, I feel great, but I just can't get to sleep. First, 1:00, then 2:00 then 3:00 o'clock and I'm still wide awake. I might add, it never happens when I can sleep in the next morning. Usually it's when I have a 7:30 T-time or some such thing. Needless to say, my game is usually not too hot that day!...See MoreHave you ever received a letter from buyer when selling your home?
Comments (64)So glad to see you're under contract TR, hopefully closing will go smoothly and you'll have the relief that not only did the house sell, but to someone so appreciative of it. When we were looking for a house and viewed the one we purchased, the original owners were here, an elderly couple who bought it when the subdivision was just built. It was '09 and a buyer's market mostly (Texas didn't have the huge highs and lows other regions did but still, this was a nice house that had been on the market for 6 months or so). They were selling to move into assisted care living as the elderly gentlemen had several medical problems, they showed us around the place, introduced us to 'Christine' the water fountain out back that "was staying", my hub liked them as much as the house, we made an offer very close to asking and they accepted. We talked on the phone several times, came over twice, for inspection and then to hash out when they were moving (they didn't want to leave before closing), other details of the house they wanted us to know, everything very friendly. The Mrs. had given me her e-mail address so we could stay in touch, I did sent her an email after we'd gotten moved in, no reply, I called her cell, no call back. Then problems with the house started occurring (rapidly), the sanitary line needed replacing, doors started sticking and the foundation needed levelling, the whole back fence line that looked perfectly fine until you put your hand on it and it bent backwards needed replacing, the first two years here were an endless series of expensive things that had to be done. We bought it as a forever house and it likely will be, we've sunk so much money into it it probably has to be. lol I'm getting ready to paint my computer room a rosy coral, nothing bad has happened in maybe a year so I feel like celebrating. :)...See Morewildchild2x2
