Why is blue green almost impossible to work with?
Comments (29)F&B is expensive.....that's one of the reasons that I chose to try color matching as best as possible before taking the plunge in our forever home. The closest dealer is also a state away. Most current prices in US $: Sample Pot: 6.50 Estate Emulsion (chalky) gallon: 69.50 Modern Emulsion (washability & stain resistance) gallon: 78 Oil Eggshell 750ml: 32.50 Water based Eggshell gallon: 88 Oil Full Gloss 750ml: 32.50 Dead Flat Oil (dead flat matte) 750ml: 36.50 One of the things that I like about F&B paints (which you will see if you order their free sample brochure) is that it suggests how you may pair up certain colors, how some of them were used historically and whether or not a color is considered warm, cool or neutral. This is my colormatch to Green Blue (mind you it reads brighter than the real deal - especially in the door pic, but if I'm this pleased w/ the so-so colormatch then I KNOW I'd be thrilled w/ the actual F&B). I don't have current pics so excuse the mess & I think on camera it reads a bit on the baby blue side which is not the case IRL. Pic 2 at the top of the pic is the most real representation of what the color looks like all over my DR:...See MoreDH took my almost done kitchen to periscope depth!
Comments (17)(I was a skimmer :-) ) Bill_V - I always heard them referred to as "targets" :P (love the intraservice rivalry, and I love your pics) Everyone else - if you ever get the chance you should take a tour of a naval ship or submarine. You won't believe the size of the kitchens they use to feed the numbers of meals they do. Below is a picture of the USS Bowfin galley. On the sub the galley (kitchen) was in a space most of us would consider the size of a butler's pantry. And they served 3 meals plus "midrats" (midnight rations) to over 100 men each day. On top of this, many considered the submarines to have the best food in the fleet. That is no small accomplishment when all the fresh food is gone in 2 weeks. God Bless all the men and women who have made sacrifices small and large to keep our country safe and preserve our freedoms. Comments (44)metromom and summiebee, Thanks for the comments. I do think I'll tone down the shower curtain by using parts of it and combining with a solid curtain, per the suggestions above. However, that is a project for post move me. We have to be out of our rental in 2 weeks and I'm desperately seeking temporary accomodations and storage! bodica, What a trip! How that is "over the top"! j....See MoreHelp with my 2 year old's 'big boy' room
Comments (18)Thanks for all the feedback! We're living in a rental right now while we're building. My son's room is yellow now & I just do not like it. I was thinking of a green, something just a tad bit darker than what's in the quilt. I almost bought some red curtains on clearance from JC Penney's, but wasn't sure how they'd look w/ a green wall. Red was the only color on sale. My mother in law suggested painting one wall blue or red & the rest a neutral beige. I just don't know. I am not good at this!! I want to use a color that we can use for at least the next 5 years. I hate to paint!! Oh, we're giving him our old BR suit & it is a maple color....See MoreButternut
