Awesome! I followed your previous thread because I have a 6yo boy whose room needs a total redo. In the time that you have almost finished, I've been dithering - but it's probably for the best since the 6yo has now decided he is not so into superheroes. Luckily his 11yo brother is newly obsessed, having gone through the phase at a younger stage as well! The Pg13 movies and moutains of graphic nobels seem to attract a different generation. Anyway, just figured I'd share that the theme has a lot of longevity! Such a wonderful room for a super kid!

I don't think I would have 2 skinny panels on either side of the triple window- don't think they add anything and would probably take them down.... the panels on the single window look fine, but if I took down some, I would take down them all... maybe you could add bands of color to the roman shades if you wanted color on the windows??

the red chair looks awesome in the room, but looks a little squished... unless he uses both chairs, I would probably remove one to give him alittle more space...

Busybee, I won't be taking down the curtains, but I'm wondering if adding another panel would help them to not be so skinny. He uses the red chair as a place to put a few of the pillows when he gets in bed :)

That is so nice! I love SW Naval. My whole kitchen, my island, and an accent wall in my living room are all SW naval. It's such a nice navy. I love all you did in there!

Lampshades and recliner really stood out for me as such small details yet so balancing effect with blue wall. Reminds of everything tasteful my room was NOT! Congrats

It looks amazing. No wonder he proudly shows it off (and you, too, I assume). What does it look like without drapes at all? You could just add some more art work or a large bulletin board (magnetic?)

I think the drapes looked better prior to adding the tiebacks. With the shades without the drapes, it looked more contemporary, but I didn't like it. I don't seem to have taken a photo though.

I'm not taking the drapes down as it would require a lot of patching and repainting, and I have so much else to do in this house first :)

Perfect room for a little guy! I personally don't like tie backs on drapes, but for a boys room, I think they look fine. A boy's room doesn't need as much fluff and softness achieved by the looser look. Either way looks good to me.

You could also try raising the tie backs -- more of a 1/3-2/3 look.

Maybe you could loosen the tie back just a bit so the curtains aren't so tight in the middle and have a little more give. I did that in my old house.

I will try moving the tie backs. They are actually pretty loose already, any looser and they wouldn't stay put. It's just the curtain fabric is kind of stiff, so it doesn't drape really well. I think I may have actually bought the Ikea cotton ones, maybe I should have bought the linen ones instead.

Yes, agree, it looks a lot nicer without the tiebacks. If you think you want some blue, you could always add a little edging (with iron-on band) --- not that it needs it. Are the curtains washable? Washing would probably make them softer.

I think I nailed by tie backs to the wall to keep them from sliding and maintaining to looseness. Thanks for the kind words!
