I am not sure what the diagram represents. The subreservoirs: what is their purpose? If those are the planters, then here is what you do: Set your planters at a higher level. set the blue reservoir at a level lower than the planters. Use an immersible pump in the blue drum to pump the nutrient up to the planters and use passive drainage to let the solution drain back from planters to the drum. You perhaps should search the net for "hydroponics DIY". that will give you the basics. There is a lot written on the web about it. The pump can be bought at walmart in the fish tank section or at twice the price from Hydroponic stores or very cheap from ebay. One suggestion, if this is your first time gardening, do soil gardening first, then move on to hydroponics. If you do hydroponics now, do an "ebb & flow" or "fill & drain" system, it is easier and lot more forgiving. In either case, start out real small and experiment. You first season will be just learning. Good luck.

I've been away from Garden Web for sometime now and I'm happy to be back.! I purchase a set of two end tables at an estate auction. All the homes furnishing were vintage. So for the past 3 years, I've been trying to id them and have yet to come anywhere close. I need to know how to post a pics, but will try to describe the best I can with it being in storage and all. The top of the table has one stationary shelf under it. Under that shelf are 4 pull out shelves with finger holes for pulling out shelves. The front is open with solid sides and back. The front and back legs on each side is attached at the bottom with a rung(?) I used it as a tv stand. Can someone please help?

Only a doc would call one end of a plumbing fitting the "distal" end. Looks like you have PEX water piping there. I haven't fooled with it, but I suspect that you can't take the fittings apart and put them back together. They're generally inexpensive fittings but put together with an expensive crimp tool. If you have a threaded spot on the cold line, that'd be the place to tie in your filter. In your 1st photo, if the PEX tee on the right is the cold line, I'm assuming there's a shutoff valve there somewhere. If the PEX is downstream of that, your choices may be to replace it or get hold of a plumber who can cut in the extra branch you need. If you replace, the John Guest push on tube fittings are super easy to use and available at your local big box. FYI, your piping to dishwasher and fridge is normal and logical- hot to wash dishes and cold to make ice. You only need the one at each. And the boat's already sailed, but unless you have serious hard/well water or other issues, the RO is probably overkill.
