Marjoram is leggy and flowers flop over

I have some wonderful sweet marjoram plants. They are so tough and adaptable and healthy. I love that they don't need much water. The only issue is that their flowers are too leggy and this year they all flopped over on the ground. They weren't getting a whole lot of sun this summer (under an oak). Would more sun make them less leggy? Or do they need to be planted densely with companions that will prop them up?

Same problem with some decorative marjorams, which are smaller but whose pink flowers just sort of flop and mass on top of the leaves instead of sticking straight up. They were getting more sun.
