Paint Suggestion for Windowless powder room
Comments (45)Here's what I did with mine. The color didn't photo well here but it's a very pale yellow. Hand painting is cooler than wallpaper because you can do things like this (I couldn't continue the design because it was headed to a place where the cabinet was mere inches from the wall and I couldn't get in there). And if you're ever tired of it, you can paint it back out in minutes. Anyway, I dunno how good it looks in pictures, but everyone who sees the room in person gasps in surprise and then says nice things about it, and it wasn't that hard to learn how to do it -- you can do something like this if you want, or any number of faux treatments... like I really like the shiny and dull stripes in the same color paint if you're into a more modern look, and the beadboard if you're into a warmer look. :) Did you look at the bathrooms thread in the Gallery?...See MoreWhat color to paint a small windowless bathroom?
Comments (5)The best small bathrooms & powder rooms I've seen are the ones in which everything really ties together, no quirky odd elements or tangents, & it seems like you can "get away with" more in a small space than in a big one. You can be more starkly modern, more decadently Deco, more specialized & individual. You can put down a floor that looks like water (don't know how that's done, but it's cool), you can use a bright orange 70's theme, things you'd never do in a bigger space. I saw one below-the-stairs powder room that was done in a Victorian theme, very busy wallpaper in warm gold/brown/burgundy tones, dark hardware, dark cabinetry, etc. It was like a perfect little gem. & it wasn't exhausting to the eye because of course nobody spent much time there....See MorePaint colors for small powder room with chair rail and dark wallpaper
Comments (11)what is the flooring going to be? with this wallpaper, I hope you're doing a gold or rose gold finish on the hardware/faucet and lighting. So, you can paper the upper half and do a wainscot below. use white or a dark blue this color and other items in this room would be the perfect match w/that paper with doing the top half and lower paint, you'd be shooting for this type of look I would do an actual wainscot and not just a chair rail. that paper deserves it. or the white or just do one entire wall...See MorePaint Colour for a window-less small kitchen (3.62 m X 2.62 m)
Comments (6)I agree with you, no need to follow trends when you love what you have. One item that baffles me is the cabinet(?) to the right of the refrigerator. Anyway, I once had dark cabinets and painted them white. The difference was unbelievable. Light really does bounce off of white so I would suggest you stick with white or very, very light color for the new cupboard doors. Bring home sample doors to see which looks best. I'm no good at picking out lights. All I can suggest is that whatever type of lighting you use, I think it's important to have the correct light bulbs--some are whiter than others. As for the walls, what is the current color and how do you feel about it?...See Morepeaches12345
