Ficus benjamina moved indoors, going through expected leaf loss

It spent it's summer outdoors for 4 months and and grew 4 times larger.

i have it in a southern facing window with about 600w of 6500k light overhead and on the side opposite the window.

even with the leaf abscission, it's still putting out a lot of new growth at the top of the tree.

Anyway, what's strange to me, or maybe not strange at all, is the fact that the only leaves falling from the tree are the older interior ones (makes sense, I know) however, they are the indoor grown leaves that grew prior to being outside. The ones that are staying put are the outdoor grown leaves. I believe I'd read the opposite was usually the case as the outdoor grown leaves required more light?

either way, I'll take it. I don't care for the look of indoor growth ficus leaves. They are thin, papery, vary too much in size, aren't as lush in color and have a matte finish.

outdoor grown leaves however, are belutuful. Much thicker, almost plastic-y, smaller but consistent in size, darker green and have a glossy finish.
