art hanging question again

I would like to hang this piece in this bathroom, It is a painting but this bathroom is not used for bathing so no steam issues. I marked it on the wall, centered between the wall and the toilet. Does that look right, or should it be centered on that wall, ignore the toilet. TIA

Comments (57)I have thoroughly enjoyed browsing all the photos and reading the stories of your collections here. Such beautiful pieces and wonderful, touching stories. To see most of mine, you'd think my home was full of antiques, which is far from the real deal, but these seem to be most of my most interesting non-art things. However, some of you have given me some ideas for things I could do in the future with things I have stored! This is a small collection of silver vases, albeit in need of some polish right now. My collection of miniature tea sets. This started with my aunt giving me her much-used Mickey Mouse set she had used back in the 30's as a child and a then-new set when I was about 8-years old (the blue and white delft set). The rest is a mix of old and new I picked up along the way as an adult. I also have a lot of old hankies that belonged to my grandmother and great-grandmother, and yes I use them at weddings and funerals. They made some of them, including the tatting on the edges. Gallery hallway of family photos (old and new) To honor our home states (Alabama and Ohio) I started looking for old maps of our states and regions. This is one of Alabama and of the Eastern US in our breakfast room. The next one is an Agricultural map of Ohio. I think I've posted enough. Thanks for viewing. BTW, those clocks are awesome! Comments (23)Thanks for all the great ideas. I would like all the furniture pieces to stay in the room, plus no other spot in the home for them. I am going to move the dresser under the window and move the chest of drawers to the wall where the dresser currently is and see how that looks and feels. TV may have to go as it is rarely used anyway. Not having a mirror over the dresser will be a change for me, lol. neverbedone - thanks for the picture, it really takes care of the space below the window and looks nice and neat. Olychick - Could I used draperies that match the current color of my Roman shades? I do want to keep them as they let light into a drab north/east room. Mrs S. - You are right, moving the chest of drawers would definitely give us some extra space when walking into the room and in front of the bed. TV not used much and it may go out of the room. RITA - Not looking for actually suggestions for art, just sizes and a pleasing placement on the wall. If I move the furniture pieces as suggested above, I may be able to also hang a piece above the chest of drawers. Comments (14)Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I scavenged this lamp from another room where it was sitting very unhappily and uselessly on a desk. It may not be quite tall enough, but it works for now, and gives this poor forlorn lamp a purpose. I couldn’t figure out a good solution for a nightstand for a daybed in a small room. A table /nightstand would always be in the way, so I had the table at the head of the bed made. I’ve had a couple of guests use the room since then and it seems to do the trick It’s just 2 x 4 lumber with a dark stain. The little stool is from the collection Frank Lloyd Wright did for Henredon back in 1955. It’s probably the least expensive piece of that collection available, but it holds a special place in my heart. Somewhere on my list of to-dos is getting it reupholstered in something more appropriate than that little 1980s floral pattern....See More
