Whats wrong with my iceberg rose bush
Comments (8)sonaliagrawal, there are a few different Bayer products. The best for disease control is the Bayer Advanced Disease Control. You mix it with water and spray it. It's not as dangerous as an oil spray as far as leaf burn, but it's best to spray it early in the day, while the plants are still dewey and the sun isn't high yet. I took a chance this weekend, I was all set to spray and filled up my sprayer and one of the hoses was leaking badly. DH was able to put a new hose clamp on it and it was fine, so I sprayed in the middle of the day. The sun was in and out, so it didn't seem to damage anything. But I usually do it before 9am....See MoreWhat's wrong with my Iceberg Patio Rose Tree?
Comments (5)It sounds like botrytis, controllable with various fungicides. Some Bayer products come to mind for controlling it. The portion in red represents the unique webaddress of each different photo you might want to link. To link a photo, any photo, it must first be uploaded at a third party site such as Flickr or Photobucket. They'll provide the webaddress for you. Comments (4)Burgandy Iceberg was a sport of Brilliant Pink Iceberg which was a sport of Pink Iceberg which was a sport of Iceberg. It's not uncommon for these sports to revert to the color of the plant it came from and with so many in it's background that could be pink or white. I say enjoy the color contrast. White goes with most everything. Many people pay extra for two varieties with contrasting colors budded onto the same rootstock. You got yours at no extra cost....See MoreMy climbing Iceberg wilts and is not growing
Comments (9)Hi, I have the same problem with my climbing iceberg, eden and a few other DA which I planted around my back porch. I am in central Fl where the soil is heavy clay with sand on the top. I guess the builder just put the sand to fill in the swamp before building the house. IN the summer we have a lot of rain and my roses just stopped growing and some are dying. After scouring the forum, I decided that it was due to root rot. Sure enough, When I dig up some of the roses, they barely have any root left. I transplanted Eden to a dryer location, amended the soil the same way as previous hole. Eden is on the mend now, putting out new growths and the leaves are green (as opposed to red and puny). The other DAs are just 2 tiny sticks, but I saw some new shoots today. I will be digging up the rest this week and putting hibiscus in their places. I suggest you dig up the iceberg and put it in the pot for now, until it recover while you investigate the source of the problem. Good Luck...See More- 8 years ago
