This was the happiest surprise from my spring shopping trip in 2007. I bought it at RU on a whim. It grew like a weed into a nicely shaped bush and just bloomed and bloomed and bloomed. I know some do not like its color, but I loved it....I think it is stunning. For some reason, it was also healthier than Iceberg, didn't get spot one. Actually I like BPI much better than Iceberg and I like Burgundy Iceberg better even than BPI. I also think BPI and Burgundy Iceberg planted together would be a big WOW!

Hi Socks, yes, the bigger ones are Twilight and the smaller Iceberg. My Burgundy Iceberg is blooming prolifically, but I am battling black spot with it. Do you have the same problem?

I absolutely heartily recommend both Bonica and Hope for Humanity in our zones. Both are cane hardy and absolute troopers in bloom. In fact, Bonica is among my top 10 roses of my 800+, and it doesn't even have particularly lovely individual blooms. It has extensive and all-summer blooms, though, and it's hardy, healthy, and bullet-proof. Hope for Humanity is from the Explorer breeders, and it's perfectly happy in the zone 4 portion of my yard. It doesn't rebloom quite as often, but it doesn't get as much sun either. The deep red blooms are very appealing, and it's also trouble free. I haven't grown America, so I'll let someone else comment on that one. I do have Melody Parfume and it's at least root hardy for me, but not a very frequent bloomer and it probably does get some BS. Burgundy Iceberg is very not winter hardy for me, so I wouldn't recommend that one. Cynthia
