Lovely photos! I ditto the kudos on BUTTER PECAN - that is a great picture of an interesting looking daylily. (And I am surprised that I feel that way, as I normally loathe and despise contrasting light colored midribs.) I have ANGELUS BLUE SKIES too - I love it when it polys, and it sometimes looks very blue-lavender to me. (The color seems to be a bit variable in my experience - perhaps the night temperatures have something to do with it. Mine has not been opening well lately; I suspect that maybe the sprinklers aren't getting it enough water.)

John Boggan and I have a disagreement about this. He first learned goldfish for columneas and I have always "known" it was the term for nematanthus. John's no slouch and knows his plants so I guess this term has been used for both for a long time. But somewhere in my dim memory I read that in the 5o's or 60's an English botanist proposed a common name for the plants we now know as nematanthus. His suggestion was "Globe Fish Plant". I have no idea what a globe fish is but my theory is that "globe fish" was corrupted into "goldfish". Anyway, I use it for nematanthus, but prefer to use the latin name. My big flowered varieties hang on long thread-like pedicels with a 2" flower having a long narrow mouth that faces down. To me they look like little yellow and orange whales,swimming through the air collecting plankton. I have a pink x codonatanthus that reminds me of a fancy guppy. So there is definitely a theme going on with these plants. By the way, an old name for Nematanthus wettsteinii is "Candy Corn Plant" for the orange and yellow flower. Nematanthus means "thread flower" referring to the long pedicels on certain species. Originally the species that had flowers on very short pedicels were in the genus hypocyrta, but that genus was combined into nematanthus, in part because fertile hybrids were made between the two. The hypocyrtas include wettsteinii and gregarius, while the long pediceled types are ones like brasiliensis (5" long pedicel) and fritchii which I believe has the longest pedicel at about 6-7". Terrible customer service and completely unprofessional. I emailed the company after almost three weeks without email of shipment We paid for expedited shipping. I received a response with an apology, promise to ship the following day, and an offer of refund for expedited shipping. Four days later I received an email stating that now two of our seeds are out of stock and we were refunded $8. No refund for expedited shipping. Of course the seeds were now out of stock since it took three weeks to fill the order!! I emailed inquiring about the shipping refund and this company wanted to argue with me terminology regarding shipping and expedited fees. Sending email after email arguing and finally an email that said “You can’t read English?”!!!! What business manager sends out an email like that. Rather than admit their mistake and attempt to make things right they want to argue and be absolutely unprofessional. I had to email them threatening legal action if they continued to send me emails. I don’t even want these products now. We will never order from Reimer seeds again

OK. I started this brouhaha so will report back after having used them for over a year. Six units-plugged in each room and one in crawl space-no furniture in front to stop emissions-all season use now-lived in woods for 16 years and always had mouse problem. Know what? No more mice and no other deterrants used. I will not use poison nor allow any living creature to suffer and die slowly while their leg or part of their body is crushed in a trap. For MY mice they do work....period. If others haven't had luck with them - are you using one in each room? These units don't claim to immediately drive the mice nuts so that they run into the toilet and drown. LOL. The frequency is an irritant; if they can find another room where they aren't irritated, they will stay in your "guest room". If no room is comfortable for them, they move. Works for me.
