New paint, when can I put books on bookshelves?
Comments (8)I heard Spongebob whining?!!?? Yep...I've made lots of Women cry over the years...heh-heh! (hee-hee! Yes...yes I am a Brat!) ;-) Well....you all can take solace that we're suffering a "mini-blizzard" up here in Fargo! We're only a degree or two above ZERO... No travel advised south of Fargo on I29, and in SE ND. Northern/NE SD is REALLY getting snow! So while I'm up here laughing (in a FUN way! at Oakley), I'm not really going anywhere.....:-( Sorry Oakley, but you'd be crying EVEN MORE when you found all the ridges in your new paint from the books, etc.! Yep...another notch in the ol' belt from disa-pointin' another Woman... ;-) Faron...the Heartbreaker! (correction- The SNOWBOUND Heartbreaker....)...See MoreShould we paint the interior of the bookshelves silver half dollor not
Comments (7)I have the same color in my room. it pulls a lot of blue, doesn' it! I also paired Kendall Charcoal w/that color. I used it on an accent wall. I like the backs in that gray or do a darker color. either works fine. the shelves will be white, yes? and then you'll have your books or whatever on them, so you will only see a small portion of the back. I think any color you choose will be fine....See MoreShould I paint the front of the book shelves the same as wood mantle
Comments (13)You don't need ONE wall to be a color. The room has four walls. You don't have high ceilings, so what??! I have no clue what you mean by " The front of shelves." The biggest mistakes made are those that come from over thinking the space, the colors, the POPS , the accents. One color on the front and another on the back You want teal? Paint the BACKS the bookcases in teal. change the tile to a simple light tone stone or tile. Maybe a soap stone surround, if you want something darker. . Paint the mantel white. Then? Minimally add the teal in other accents. A rug with a dab of it..... art ...etc. The point here is you give the room a POINT of view. Design is editing. It's to pick a loose thread from a sweater and follow the unravel . It's a combo of no fear, and a little restraint, all at the same time. I am not a fan of the half way I can't make up my mind/ I can't commit look. : ) If yu want the backs painted? Echo the color elsewhere. or WRAP the room in a color ( no, not teal )...See MorePaint sheen/finish for new built-in bookshelves?
Comments (11)Ours are painted in satin, which I prefer to semi-gloss. Our trim, wall paneling, and windows/doors are the same finish, and our ceilings are flat in the same color. We have a mix of some painted many years in ago in BM Satin Impervo and some painted more recently in BM Aura and BM Advance. The finish is similar for all three....See Morerazamatazzy
