That is cute. When my girls were very young we had a beagle mix that would go down their slide.

Slide or sliding pond?
Q
Comments (28)
This is really funny! I had a big argument with my late husband about the subject. He called it a "sliding pond" and I said I never heard of such a thing, just called it a "slide". Well, now I know that some people from certain geographic areas do call it a "sliding pond". Who knows where the pond part came in. Maybe when the kids ran a lot of water down the thing. He was from Brooklyn and I was (and still am) from Long Island. And I never heard the expression again ever since his whole family passed away (except for one sister, whom I don't speak with).

Step down required for sliding glass door in Florida?
Q

Hi Mark, we are in Tampa, Florida so snow build-up is not a concern. Yes. He is a licensed architect. The specific comment from our builder / architect is : The purpose of the step down is to accommodate the track - which is about 6” wide and about 3” deep, plus a riser that extends another 1.5” higher. The track will be recessed into the interior finished floor and will drain to the lanai which is sloped. If the lanai is at the same level as the interior finished floor, you will end with a trench (track) that cannot drain. This is not the same design that you see in California homes that are not in flood and wind-borne debris regions.

How to slow down slide

fun idea! there must be some solution. my sister's hardwood floors are absolutely treacherous whereas with my floors, you cold not slide if you tried. not all finishes are the same. google "non-slip floor treatment". this product gets good reviews: https://slipdoctors.com/collections/anti-slip-coatings-for-floors/products/clear-anti-slip-spray-coating it's cheap enough that you could do a test sample. I'd caution against anything that feels too sandy or rough, that would wear holes in clothes super fast.

Omg I just saw this!!! I must have done something really bad to be sliding down! Very cute p-log! Made me smile.

Actually I did do something bad, picked up a virus looking for free coloring pages! I could buy a lot of coloring books for what I'll be paying the computer guys to fix it! Using the iPad for now. Let this be a lesson: stay out of bad neighborhoods.

You've been doing nothing worse than having fun! (I love slides! Couldn't get the image out of my head every time I saw the thread titled Socks Sliding Down, so had to make it. Glad you got a smile out it--viruses are bad. 'Hope it's all better soon.)
