Comments (4)sorry to say my first really bad experience with henredon furniture happened this year. after owning many beautiful pieces with no problem, this gorgeous dining room table had a soft finish and scratch easily even with a soft fingernail. to make a long story short, after several months of arguing with customer service, sending tons of great quality digi photos, they claim someone must have altered the finish after the table left the factory new. i purchased from a reputable dealer who claims she purchased from her normal henredon sources. feel free to contact me if you want more. you pay a premium price for this brand and would've expected premium customer service. nope, not to be. don...See MoreLiving room...work in progress :)
Comments (7)Thank you All :) grandmaof3: wow what a great idea, didn't cross my mind at all, but I'd need a different TV stand, this one is 2" too wide (but that gives me an excuse to look for a closed one that will fit perfectly (LOL), the TV itself will fit right in . polly929: the Expedit is a bit deeper than the bookcase I have right now , but the possibility of hiding toys in bigger boxes is thrilling :) The bookcase is secured to the wall, we'll do the same with the tall cubbies, no worries! Glad to hear orange will look OK here, if I decide to do curtains, do I put the same exact ones on all windows though? Thought of orange Ikat print, not sure if that would be to much? I think mounting TV would be too much, but moving it to the corner is easier and more doable :) dedtired: that would be perfect for separating the entrance, as we have no entry area whatsoever, but I'd be very afraid of my toddler running into it :( pricklypearcactus: Thank you, the older rug didn't match the space too well, was to light, and after I put the coffee table on it, it looked even more off..I fell in love with the chevron, it definitely is staying for a while! I'll work on getting the TV cabinet that fits in the space and move the TV (the two walls are not even, as one would expect... The lamp looks very lonely and off in the corner next to the sofa, I think it's too flimsy, it looks way better tucked behind the chair (a new lamp in the works? :)) aktillery: Thanks :), I was thinking of making this table and painting it orange (cinnabar which is deep reddish orange), not sure it would be too much though http://ana-white.com/2010/11/step-side-table The rug is from rugsusa.com, I suspect it's the same rug though, similar price. The reviews on their website were either really good or bad, I'm very happy with it and got it for half price, they have 50% off sales fairly often :)....See MoreRug Advice / Family Room Progress
Comments (22)AnnieDeighnaugh - that is a fantastic idea. If your other thread has construction details, could you possibly link to it? Thanks for the design seeds palette, these are fun and useful. In this case, I was able to eliminate two colors fairly quickly: the dark grey and tan. I like the silver in the Phoebe Howard room (I think the sofa fabric will give a similar effect), the white, but think I want more contrast than the light brown. mlweaving_Marji - The sofas are by Hickory White (left) and Sherril Furniture (right). The Sherrill one model # is 2186 1/2. I don't remember if there's a loveseat in that model but there are many loveseats to select. mtnrdredux - Keep after me please! I do want some zing in here. Orange built-ins?! I have the fun lights ... we wired for sconces over DH's sofa (not sure about what we're putting over mine yet, probably floor lamps) and also want something really nice and dark for contrast. TV (sigh) will help, perhaps the brown tile, or a combination of a dark reclaimed wood mantel and a great tile. Here's one I found on Filmore Clark recently: I actually rather like the idea of the tile with a really dark brown mantel: Thanks all for hanging in there with me. It makes it so much more fun!...See MoreI wish I had room for these beauties - Henredon Couches
