Foliage has always been important to me. Blossoms are nice and are a large part of the garden, but foliage is what carries it through the seasons and makes a landscape garden, instead of just a cutting garden for blossoms. When I see people's gardens on the internet usually I see a collection of close-up flower pictures. That's not a garden, it's a nursery catalog. It has no sense of 'place'. The setting is just as important as the foliage or flower in my mind. Where is it located in the garden? Also, I've noticed there seems to be just pictures of perennial foliage. That limits this Forum quite abit. What about conifers and trees I know there is a separate forum for those, but I think they should be included here too. In fact, anything without blossoms being the main part of the picture qualifies as far as I'm concerned. ""

First I want to say thanks to cawfeegirl posting your response to Design in a Bag on this forum...I fell upon this forum and it's so amazing to see everyone's remarks and feedback. I'm glad most of you seem to like the idea, and the criticisms are noted as well! We love hearing about your reactions and aim to keep improving the website and the bag collections. If anyone has any questions we'd be happy to answer them! We love tracie.erin's comments suggesting what makes each kitchen unique is the homeowner first and foremost and each collection is really meant to be a jumping-off point to help bring it altogether and give homeowners an extra boost of confidence when making selections. Plus, each kitchen and bath is often unique in its own way in terms of layout, so between the 'you' factor and the room's bones, each kitchen/bath has it's own unique fingerprint no matter what finishes you use. Hi anele; I totally know what you mean about being a vegan making your social life difficult! I am really impressed that you're a veg in a family of omnivores ... wow. It is not easy! Well, I guess we're "just" the strictest of vegetarians, although I find that my children (two and four year-olds) and I feel and do better when following a vegan diet. (My husband is an omnivore, but only outside the house -- at home, he is also a strict veg. He also finds he doesn't do well after eating ice cream but he eats it anyway!) When the children are out at school or with friends I don't freak out when they get (dairy) cheese pizza or baked goods made with egg, but at home, I try to bake only vegan and we only use soy yogurt and soy milk. (They are always forbidden from drinking dairy milk and eating dairy ice cream / sherbert. Both make them vomit and that's just unfair to their little systems.) I've yet to find a non-dairy cheese which isn't repulsive, so that's a hard one for us .... When we lived in San Francisco (CA) we also found being vegan socially isolating -- even as a vegetarian it was hard. But now we live in Boulder (CO) where being a vegan is socially easier, but when we socialize (outside the house) we're just vegetarian. We'll go with the flow up to a certain point. I have to say it is just so much easier to even be a vegan in this day and age with all the substitute products available to us! But even still, it's work. I really do applaud you for being a veg in your home!

1) I want my own bathroom back again. *sniffle* (I also want it not to be the ugly MDF-and-plastic thing our only bathroom is now.) 2) I also want my 2-car garage back, instead of an 8x10 shed. 3) A mudroom that's more functional than a semi-oversized pass-through and place to put the recycling bins would be awfully nice. 4) A pantry (although it could be a well-designed closet or even a group of cabinets, doesn't need to be a walk-in) 5) A room to put DH's massage table and my physical therapy equipment in, like the big exercise ball, the on-the-floor traction whatchamacallit, and trunk of smaller gear that I had to give away when we moved here because there was nowhere to put it (well, not the massage table, that wasn't going anywhere). If money were no object whatsoever, I'd love an outbuilding with one of those circulating pool/hot-tubs - the one that's neck deep and has the treadmill that folds down/out of the side. I love working out at the rehab pool (which is 10 degrees warmer than any of the local health clubs' pools, ack) because I can do stuff in the water I could never dream of doing on land but some days it gets very crowded and those of us in the independent programs have to get out of the way even if it makes hash of our workouts. I'd put a TV with a DVD player out there, a stereo, a towel warmer, a little fridge.
