Mosaic rainbarrel riser? What should I use??
Comments (5)What about using a group of four or more cement blocks laying on their sides instead of on ends. That way you can make it as hi as you need it and still would be stable. The sides can be finished however you want. The ends would be kind of hidden, but could be painted with flowers etc. Or you could put small little creatures in this space peaking out of their hideaway. These spaces also could be used maybe for a little gnome house. Just a couple of ideas since the cement blocks would be a good choice because of the weight they would be supporting. Comments (31)I would leave them as is and add a runner. I always wondered if steps without a runner get scuffed up over time? My only input is it appears your wood floor stain and stair stain is off a bit - so that draws your eye to the staircase as being a bit "off". I don't think painting the risers white will fix that and while I liked the pictures of the black risers posted, I don't think they will go in your house with the white trim. Your metal railings look bronze? Not black so that's why I don't think black risers will work. I suggest a carpet runner - I love a textured carpet as a stair runner or even an oriental type design....See MoreWhite steps on front of home? Should I paint all white?

The main body color will drive color choices for trim and steps. For example, with cooler offwhite black would work better for trim. For warmer body of house, a dark brown would be best. Which way would you lean?...See MoreShould I paint the risers and or stringers on my stairs?
Comments (13)Lisa not sure who you were asking but I would leave the stair treads and railing wood, and paint the balusters, and risers white. Really up to you on the stringers, if it were me I would leave them unpainted, see how I liked it, and if I didn't I would paint....See MoreUser
