Want to change the color theme from Teal to mustard
Comments (14)Celery, love the first visual with the large picture but with the drapes in the second picture. Mishu, a friend of mine has wood floors like you do and light gray sofa. She has a mustard yellow throw and pillows like Celery mocked up for you and a large picture similar colors. She brought in plum accents and it is so tasteful looking....See MoreWell, I did it! I wanted change and that’s what I got!
Comments (47)Lascatx, that’s the problem I had! The colors really aren’t represented well on the screen! I’m finding that this Sage is like SW Sea Salt in that depending on the lighting, it can appear as a different color. Tan w/green undertones when it’s in the shade and a more vibrant olivey green when it’s in the sun. In person, the blue (SW Moody Blue) on the door and shutters is really close to the screen if not spot on. My DD & SIL were here and noticed the shutters right away but didn’t notice the house! That was suprising! They like the blue too as well as the sage. So it’s all good! Money well spent! :c)...See MoreWant to change the color of blue wall, but to what??
Comments (20)Since you just bought the house I would make the easy choice and paint the blue wall the same white as the other walls. Over the next 6 months decide what you love and hate about your new home. Decide what must stay (You either love it or can't afford to change it.) Think about the colors you love. Then think about how you want to use the colors in your home. Walls are huge and generally look better when they are painted in a more subdued color. There are exceptions, but in your space the blue is sticking out like a sore thumb. Way too vibrant and connected only to the two blue chairs. Add the bright colors through upholstery, art, sculpture, area rugs, décor. I am also not loving the combination of the floor and the backsplash. Too many yellow/orange/peach colors in the backsplash with the cooler neutral floor. See what it looks like if we cool it down. The counter seems to go well with the floor (at least in this picture) ....See Moreshould I change the wall color of this space?
Comments (39)tv is hung way too high. this looks better. normally viewing height is 56-60" measured from floor to the MIDDLE of the tv. Also, what's w/the black spotlights? are they necessary? (can't imagine why since you have plenty of recessed lighting. it's not an art gallery) If so, bring in something smaller in white so they're less obtrusive looking. I like your floors and rug. I think the creamier white wall color will work nicely here's another one...See Moreabdala96
