Comments (67)Thanks sassy for the frog pics. I just love them. I found a new site lately for picture storage and I think I may set up an account with them as you can make your own web address off of their site as well or so I've heard. flickr.com is the site ever hear of it. If anyone is really into taking pictures, like I am with my digital camera this would be a site for you to explore into. You can search numerous picture subjects and wow, what results all has there to share with the public. Some photos that I never thought I would have taken an interest into using as a subject has caught my eye and peaked my interest enough to say, wow, I'm gonna try that. Well worth your time to check it out and see what ya think, anyway. Just search whatever comes to your mind on what you would like to see and walllahhh, it's there in all forms. Beth, Hope your dog doesn't butcher up your lovely plants to much. I guess choppin them up with the tail is better than ingesting the foliage though. Better that end than the latter, huh or you could really have a mess on your hands. Do you have any begonias in your indoors collection, a couple kinda looked like it but I can't really tell as I'm just starting to get into the houseplants again. When my kiddies were wee little ones I gave up my houseplants for their safety but now that they're nearing graduation I felt, huh, I think it's safe now. I got a begonia plant from a garage sale and the leaves are gorgeous but I'm not sure exactly what window I should be putting it into. At the moment its in a north facing window, should it be in a south defused lighted window. Susie, did you run out and make snow angels or catch a few snow flakes with your tongue? Remember doing that as a child? Gotta keep the child spirit in all of us alive by nourishing it. May take a we bit longer to get up and down from making snow angels but just as fun as the very first time. I love all the photos everyone is contributing, this is so much fun. You gals really have some great shots to share with our group, Thanks Peace Char...See MoreNEW: Make A Wish Round Robin

Comments (20)Thank you for the comments. Both of you mentioned the island, and the entrance, so first up: The kitchen island - as drawn, its 2x4 ft. I'm not hung up on having an island, I just wasn't sure what to do. 14-ft wide is just barely wide enough to have an island I think. Maybe it won't be fixed, but a smaller mobile unit of sorts. The kitchen seemed too wide not to have one. I could make it narrower, a more narrow u-shape with no island. The kitchen doesn't have to be 14-ft wide. Entrance. Is it really large? Maybe you are right. That's why we wanted to use the center section of the house for the master bath as much as possible; that center bay is a lot of square feet that isn't being used for much (stairs, entrance). I also didn't draw the closet in that last pic, its shown in the builder drawing. My drawing does not show/account for wall thickness either, but here is another pic with a few more dimensions. I figure there is about 9-ft of width for the entrance, and about 11-12 ft in front of the entrance to the stairs. I am thinking in addition to the closet on the left as you enter, there might be a hall tree or hooks/bench/something on the right. Also, yeah, I am really excited. I just want to get this figured out so we can move forward. We originally hoped to build in 2012, so my patience is waning. The upside is that everything about this project is better and easier for having waited, and I am still determined to make sure its right on paper before we build anything....See MoreTry a little tenderness ...
Comments (26)I love these stories! A couple of days ago I walked a few blocks away to check out an apartment building that has a listing that I'm interested in. I didn't have an appt. to view the unit, just wanted to get a feel for the block. I stopped a gentleman who looked like he was about to enter the building but he was not, I explained that I was wondering how the building is. Is it heated well, etc. (You never know in NYC how some buildings are managed.) He told me that his friend lives in the building, "Let me call him up". I told him no, you're too kind, you don't have to do that, but he insisted. Turns out he didn't have his friend's number after all but assured me that he had been in the building, it's very nice and he can run in to see if his friend is home. Of course I thanked him and refused buy what a nice guy. From there I went to the hardware store to see if they had seed packages for sale yet. I wanted to get thyme and chive seeds for my windowsill. The guy behind the counter told me that they haven't gotten them yet, they'll be in in a month. But he has last year's seeds, (which should still germinate) and I can take all of them for free. LOL I don't really have much use for most of the seeds as I live in an apartment but I didn't want to stand there picking through all the seed packages, there were probably 100 envelopes packed tightly into a box. He said You come in often, and we appreciate it. I'm sending most of the seeds to friends who live outside of the city and have gardens. So it was a really nice day. There are so many kind people out there, sometimes it's kind of shocking! I can't remember the last time I encountered anyone who was rude to me. Recently someone hung tote bags on a fence for anyone to take, "Being Nice is Free" was printed on them. My neighbors are all very friendly which just makes life so much better. (Except for the stomper who lives above me but I try not to get too annoyed!). I think when I was younger I could get snippy with people sometimes but I believe I've mellowed and really enjoy interacting with most people I meet....See Morelarsi_gw
