The max spring fresh left some globs in the dispenser and I felt the smell was still a bit too strong after drying. I think my bottle may get watered down as well. Trying out the baby formula in a load of fleece throws now.

larsi does that smell like Suavitel's Sunset Rose? I ask because the pic on the bottle is almost identical

I'm wondering about this one, its not classic Downy and not concentrated, but I wonder if mixed with downy free, ill try it later....lol

@ Jean....I do not think it smells like Suavitel Rose. I thought the same thing before I smelled it, about the rose looking the same. I personally almost hate all Suavitel offerings, so was pleased that this Ensueno Max Floral does not smell like Suavitel Rose.

@ Mama...I diluted this Ensueno with about 50% distilled water, gave it a good shake and put it into a clean, empty softener bottle. I thought about diluting it with unscented Downy....but every Ensuneo is INSANE thick, and would for sure clog or leave a nasty remnant in my fabric softener dispenser...Eeeek, that drives me mad, cannot have that, LOL. Once diluted, it was much thinner, softer smelling and you will LOVE this....It's PINK!!!

Ok good, I cannot stand the Suavitel scent-though I just had to buy it a couple years ago, teehee!

I have seen in the Suavitel brand they have a Fast Dry one. I wonder what that does? Maybe it is like Sears detergent because to me when clothes are washed in the Sears they seem drier when finished spinning than they do with any other brand. OR Maybe I'm nuts--thats possible too!

I saw and smelled the Suavitel sparky823, the one that says Clothes dry 30% faster. How and why? Sadly, it smells like all Suavitel!!! :(

That's what I wondered, how does it make them dry quicker and the why I guess is to cut down on dryer time and be "energy saving" although it doesn't say that but may not can due to laws etc.(or proof--might just be BS).

Guess I am just dull, but I use Downy Free all the time. Rather smell like nothing than to smell so strong it's like a fog has rolled in and choking everyone around.

I'm rewashing some items I used the ensueno max on last night. Lingering scent is just too strong. Not even sure if cutting it down to 50% strength will work.

Sorry aa62579. I find cut with water, the scent is there, but not overpowering!

I'm finding the scent heavy even on the clothes I rewashed. When they say max, they really mean it! Glad the one you bought and diluted works well.

Let me diasect this...if the fabric softener is cut with water rather than being dumped into a tub of water will it calm the scent down more than if its mixed with downy free? See how my mind works...that's because I have NO LIFE. Lmao

Mama.... Ensueno Max softener is SO, SO thick.....Downy free won't do much for usability. I'm sure it would soften the scent more, but watering it down (as with anything scented)...it gets "waterier", and therefore not as pungent!

I always have to remind myself my washer uses more water lol sorry.

I water mine down either 6 to1 or 7 to 1 depending. I do this to the Free. Makes it go farther plus it doesnt clog up and it is enough to soften without being flimsy. I like Method water lily and aloe but it is very thick. Has the cleanest nicest light smell if when using you dry in the dryer but if they are line dried, it is a wet dog smell so I only use that if dryer drying.

Since line drying was mentioned, here's a small tid bit of info, I don't know if you know this but clothes line dried tend to be stiffer, right? Did you know that using a detergent without OBA's will make line dried clothes much softer? I am going to try it this week and I will let you know my results.lol.

You read that somewhere? Might be true. I do know I have had towels be like boards and at other times not be nearly as stiff. I wondered why. I know if the wind blows hard it will blow the stiffness out of them--March-April.

I'm not sure Sparky where I got that info, must have read it somewhere.

Hey Mamapinky, you may know me from AW (Mich over there)... I'm kinda curious about that as well.

Optical Brighteners, typically are chemical agents designed to manipulate light on fabric (think of bluing & whites). I've never heard of them, causing clothes to become stiff, but, I'd love to hear, where you heard that. It's interesting :)

Hi Mitch, yes I do remember you. As far as where I read it, I'm not sure, seems to me it was someplace on the web some chemical company explaining different laundry detergent chemicals. I'm going to take a look at notes of mine and see if I kept the info.

However Mich, if you do a search..laundry brighteners and line drying clothes. Seems others are talking about it also.

Slightly off topic but Mich, I think it was you who taught me STPP is a great additive to strip built up detergents in clothing, also isn't it you that was working on the correct amount of STPP in ratio of detergent?

STPP is a wonderful additive to strip out built up detergent residue. It also works well, at removing graying from whites (because it works well at stripping out both Carbonates & Hard Water deposits from clothes) ;)

Vinegar will also do the same, but nowhere, near what STPP will do.

STPP is one of those magical cure-all's. I just wish it was more readily available.

And I did... for a while, do some research, but the general thing seemed like no one was all that interested (at the time) . I'd be happy to post what I found, though. :)

Interesting Thought though. I've never really thought much about the brighteners having a effect. Your probably right. :)

Mich, I also wish STPP was more readily avilable, but I do buy it on Amazon with no postage. Funny you should mention how it will strip Carbonates, since carbs is one of my biggest concerns on why fabric can be scratchy or stiff, I use mostly powder detergent, if I add a booster like oxiclean which is mostly sodium carbonate, I run the risk of carbonate over dose which without STPP can be a real problem to rinse out. I've talked about this a number of times. My solution I order a more pure sodium percarbonate so I dont need the oxi clean. I do use STPP IN most loads, There are others here that also use it, but I think not too many.Of course I'd be interested in any research you have done, thank you and nice to see you (so to speak) .

I have noticed that my clothes are stiffer (line dried) when I add Oxi Clean to them. Maybe it doesn't rinse out well I guess.

Sparky you use All free powder right? It contains sodium carbonate, than add oxi clean to it which is also mostly carbonate and factor in it can be a real pain to rinse out if used in excess, and you will have stiffer clothes..lol

Thanks to MamaPinky....I now add a little STPP powder to almost every load. LOVE it. My clothes, towels and sheets do feel cleaner, softer, fluffier and just better overall. Ordered on Amazon, it is quite cheap. Great laundry additive!!!

There's this guy on YouTube, either from Brasil or Mexico, and some of his fabric softeners are so thick... it's like... you can't even pour them into the dispenser properly. There are just chunks of glop dripping from the cap.

As for the Fast Dry stuff: I think the theory is that coating fibers in wax, which is what softener usually does, makes them give off the water more easily during the spin cycle. Just like you can shake off raindrops from a plastic rain coat.

A new softener for me..Members Mark, Spring Flowers Scent , I was hesitant to buy it, I kinda liked it in the jug, yes I opened the lid in the store to do a test sniff, but wasn't completely sure, I went back to it before I left and sniffed again, I bought it. Glad I did, it smells very nice on the finished laundry. softened nicely without a waxy feel and the scent is light, and clean, I may have to tell Downy goodbye and say goodbuy to Members Mark.

I went to a local Fiesta today and found Downy is a good size bottle for $1.69. I saw some women taking it out by the cart full. I wasn't that greedy, I only bought 4.
