Hi, I think you may want to wear dark colored long sleeve shirts and long pants when you work on your garden. A bee once sat on my bag that has a yellow flower drawing. And when I went to picnic with my yellow shirts on, a bee followed me around.. I'm scared of certain bugs that harms me if I get bitten. Although seeing giant bugs still gives me goosebumps, it's manageable now. Let me explain the reasons why I kind of got over the fear. I had to live in an old house that has mouses, roaches, ants, mosquitoes, etc.. Next room that I moved in was an old wood craft building. I cleaned up the place and applied the drugs to remove them. But, then entire place was wood=food for termites and warm weather didn't help the situation. So, by the time I moved out of that place, I become numbed by the frequencies of their appearance. I guess when you have no choice but to face with your fear everyday basis, you learn how to get around it, live with it, and survive. I hope this would be helpful to anyone who reads it. However, I don't recommamd you to force yourself too much because I don't want you to be traumatized. This is not a race. You can deal with it at your own comfortable pace.

These do eat plants when their numbers are high. They do. There should be no debating this. If anyone doesn't believe it, they haven't had an infestation of pill bugs and don't really have the experience to help someone regarding. I cannot grow legume or peas without killing these bugs in the area or they will take down every one of the healthy seedlings. I drench the soil in the area with liquid spinosad. Once the plant is established, it's good. I gotta eat, too. I read somewhere that pill bugs remove metals and is likely to remove some toxins in the soil. I'm still trying to figure why I have so many and what purpose they are serving beyond the normal "eat decaying matter".

I have not had many problems with stink bug, but did do some research on them, after seeing the same article about a week or so ago. Sorry I did not keep references, but what I found is that they do seem to prefer buckwheat. My plan so far is to use buckwheat as a trap crop, I used it last year to attract beneficial insects, it brings lots of tiny parasitic wasps and grows fast. And also add more bird feeders and water sources for birds. I have 0 problems with tomato horn worms since I put the bird feeder by the main veggie garden. The cardinals are so good at catching them, they don't even have time to make a dent on tomatoes. Crossing my fingers birds will like the stink bugs too.

Does your insect look like the one in the image linked below? If so, it's a katydid youngster and aren't considered much of a problem as they don't usually arrive in hoards like grasshoppers. If not, I have one more 'guess' up my sleeve, lol. The reason I'm not jumping on this one right away is because I can't see its head. The size of the image has nothing to do with it. So your rosemary is in a planter. Ocean Forest makes several different kinds of soils, but I don't know what the ingredients are. Some potting mixes are absolutely horrible while others do a pretty good job. Rosemary isn't a rapid grower, perhaps you are expecting too much. Be very watchful for over watering if you have it in a large planted with other plants. By the way, I've always considered rosemary a spider mite magnet; aphids and mealy bugs aren't uncommon at all.
