I got 6 Asian pears. They are about 6 to 8 years old and set 50 to 150 fruit per tree on a good year. But, every year they are stripped clean by July. Nothing near ripe and boom...they are done for the season thanks to the animals. All I see in the morning is a pile of leaves around the tree and maybe some broken branches.

I started to trap coons this spring. I got 18 so far. I am pretty sure it is not coons. With the coon work I do I have been able to get plums, peaches and a handful of Euro pears for the first time this year since 2011. Last year ALL 24 trees were stripped clean and all I got was a few leftovers on the ground the animals didn't want.

My Euro pears were almost stripped clean. I got 6 pears off one tree. The other tree was cleaned out. I tried alum flashing on the Euro pear a few weeks ago and it seemed to help. I will try flashing on the Asian pears next year.

Any idea what is getting my Asian pears other than coons?
