I think you can go with black floor tiles, but beware that lint from toilet paper will be very visible against the black as will water spots. A pale gray, large scale tile could be used on the walls. I would not go any darker than that.

Thanks for the reply Powermuffin, Do you think it would look good using the same colour wall tiles for the full bathroom or maybe a darker style around the bath/shower area?

I always need visuals to help me imagine what would look good. Why don't you spend some time on Houzz or pinterest and find some baths you really like and do your own version of those? Post the pics here that you do like and maybe get some opinions on those?

It doesn't look like a very large space so I would keep the tile medium to light, especially in the shower. Dark tile in the shower will be like a cave. As powermuffin stated, the darker you go the more everything will show.

You can never go wrong with white subway tiles. Large black or gray square tiles for the floor. You'll have a rug, most likely..in white :)))...so the rug will catch most of the lint anyway. I like that tub, by the way. Very modern.

I have black tiles everywhere in my master bath. It's not a shiny tile, but while lint isn't a problem (at least not with the tp I use), it does show water marks. If you have black tile in the shower area, make sure you clean it regularly or else it gets a cloudy haze from soap scum. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't get a solid back tile again. I'd probably do something in the medium gray family.

I'd try to keep the room in all light shades, you can add your color with art and linens.

I suggest keeping everything lighter using same floor and walls tiles. The Uniformity will give the allusion of space. Colour and decorative interest will come from towels and other elements added to the room, which can be changed out easily as style changes.
