Need Some Advice On Two Young Maples Please

Newbie Alert!! .....Brought a Red Filigree Lace plus a Mikawa Yatsubusa both grafted and are still small, about 8 inches high in a 90mm pots.

I checked and none of the them have a root ball that it fills the pot......I was thinking of re-potting both of them into 110mm pots but with Autumn coming is best to leave the re-potting till the spring?

When I do re-pot then I was going to use a mixture 60% John Innes no3 20% Perlite and 20% Pine Tree Droppings (the stuff that drops from Conifer Trees as its hard to get Pine Bark Mulch in small quantities here in the UK) will this be ok?

Also being young JM's is there anything I should be doing at this stage to help the trees maintain their shape, for the Red Filigree Lace I want to obtain a umbrella shape but I have never seen a Mikawa Yatsubusa before and being a newbie to JM was unsure what to do next?
