HAVE: Martha Stewart Holidays books for my 'wants'
Comments (0)I have 3 books by Martha Stewart that I'm hoping to trade for my wants. The first is copyright 1998, hard cover, Decorating for the Holidays. It's in very good condition, purchased on Ebay. I read it, loved it, and hoping that I can pass it on. Second is copyright 1993 soft cover, the Best of Martha Steart Living, Holidays. It's in good condition and ready to be enjoyed. Third is copyright 1995, soft cover, the Best of Martha Stewart Living, Handmade Christmas. Good condition. I was going to sell them on Ebay but decided to see if anyone was interested in a trade first. I would love to trade these for bulbs or plants. Our ground is still frozen, however, I have had luck with potting the plants until it's safe to go outside....providing the plant isn't "moody" about things. Spring bulbs would be great, hostas would be wonderful, bleeding heart, lily of the valley, lily bulbs, iris, may night salvia, stella d'oros, verbascum.....basically anything...I don't keep track of named varieties...I'd just like to know what it is. If you have any questions on the books, don't hesitate to ask...if you collect them and want to be sure of what pic is on the front of the book...(the only way I can tell them apart)..just ask & I'll email a pic or a link to a pic that shows the book. Please don't be shy about an offer! Thanks! LC Grace...See MoreResentful of Martha Stewart?
Comments (101)I am always amazed at the strong reactions of people who say they don't like Martha. I have to agree with previous posts, that I don't think these people have actually seen her show or read her magazine, because many of the reasons they give for disliking her are simply not true. For those of you, I'll tell you a little about her show. On her show she features guests as well as her own experts (employees), who show HER and her audience how to. That is what she is about - if you WANT to, you can do it yourself. You don't need to eat at a 5 star restaurant, you can have the 5 star chef show you how to do it at home. That is why she has guests do something they have never done before, or are not necessarily comfortable doing. To show that you can do it, and do not need to feel intimidated. Her show/magazine also features EXPERTS in their field give advice on health, gardening, taking care of your pets. Great tips, practical tips, inexpensive and expensive tips. Why is this so offensive, I'll never know. Obviously, if you aren't interested, then don't watch it/read it! I don't need to think she is the most personable woman in the world to like what she does. And who cares what she does with her money? Calling her materialistic is ridiculous. What about the billionaires who spend their money on solid gold faucets and million dollar parties? She is frugal by comparison and created a center devoted to geriatrics. If you ask me, she can spend her money as frivolously as she wants, she made it, what she does with it is none of my business, besides, I don't care, I have better things to get angry about. I'll save my anger for violent criminals, animal abusers, child abusers. As for her being a poor example for our daughters, I can think of worse, namely the Paris Hiltons and Lindsey Lohans of the world. I believe those who dislike her are INSECURE. They somehow believe that others feel they should "be like Martha". I don't feel I should to be like Martha, but I sure have gotten some amazing recipes from her website. I have a blackberry mint julep recipe that is out of this world. And shame on you for your rude remarks about her hair, my 6 year old knows better....See MoreTodays News--Emeril/Martha Stewart/Octomom
Comments (23)Heya Matti, :) That's what I read- that it was pretty veiled. Made me laugh, that's for sure! Here's the quote from Foxnews.com: "Nadya Suleman, mother of 14, has at least one thing she won't do. She'll never do a reality show. Appearing on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" Tuesday, Suleman took a veiled swiped at Kate and Jon Gosselin and other parents who use their multiple-based TV shows to support their families, saying "a parent must provide for their kids, not the other way around."...See MoreMartha Stewart's New Comedy Show!
Comments (5)This sounds hilarious! I'll have to write in and suggest an old Thanksgiving turkey episode if they don't already have it lined up. I saw an old tape of it at a friend's house. A friend of a friend had the hots, BIG TIME, for Martha. The part where she's rubbing the bird down, braless, was just too much!...See More- 11 years ago
