Do any of you fear the types of plastics you use?

Hello, I am just getting into hydroponics but I garden outdoors. I see a lot of postings for different systems. Mostly channel type systems that have me the most interested and concerned. One was using gutters another using corrugated pipe, is there a point when you say it is cheap but I don't want the toxins I am trying to avoid. Or are there safe options in something like gutters? Even different pump types I wonder about. I want to hit this hard but I don't want to set myself up for ill health in the future by shopping at lowes, home depot or menards and buying wrong products? Any thoughs? I have not decided on a particular system. I want to work towards a perpetual type garden. Where I have fresh vegies all year long. Instead of the 1 or 2 months of bloom then doom I have now. So any thoughts on a source for the cheapest, safest plastics? Something I can have 8-12' foot runs of? Pipes or gutters? Also I see people using silicone and other type of sealants any thoughts there? Thanks
