Hey, those are all great ideas, Glenda. I usually grab a bunch and put in one of our bags when we travel. Plus I use them for shampoo, perfume or anything else that may make a mess in the luggage. I also take a 13 gallon bag for the clothes we've already worn. We usually travel by car so it's no problem.

I have a small one I keep my earrings in. I'm allergic to metals so I can't wear them very often or very long. Even the ones with no nickel will make me itch after a while. Needless to say, I get my "jewelry" from Whispers and if I lost the whole bag it wouldn't be a big loss.

I remember the day I used to carry a small bag of Cheerios as a snack for Terri when she was little.

I rarely use them for sandwiches!

They are a favorite for my "junk" drawer. One holds screws and a few nuts, bolts and washers. Another holds nails and picture hangers. One is filled with packets of floral preservative. This provides a little order for the remaining chaos and clutter housed there.

They are great for freezing bits of canned soup or tomato sauce not needed to complete a recipe.

Agree about the wonderful applications for travel.

I use a box of 100 each month. I keep hair elastics in one, send my grandson's snack in another (pretzels). I open a package of hamburger, for the dogs, and keep the remainder in a baggie. I store dried flower seeds in them, use them to mail seeds when trading, put cosmetics in them - the list goes on and on!

I often use them to put individual portions in, leave them slightly open, put them in a Foodsaver bag, which I vacuum then freeze. That way I just have to open, take out one to go with my meal, vacuum again and pop back in the freezer. I even freeze soups, sauces this way (freeze first, then put in the FS bag to vacuum.

When I serve country lo boil I put individual dampened wash cloths in them, and set them out prior to the messy eating :o)

I use the plastic bags with the snap lock top to freeze bread. My supermarket often has specials on bread but you have to buy two at a time. So I put two or four slices in a bag, seal it up and then put them in the freezer. I only get out what I need each time and it works well for me.

I use them on my computer keyboard. I take a gallon size bag and slip it over one end of the keyboard, then another over the other end of the keyboard, and tape them together in the middle with clear tape. Keeps my keyboard safe from spills and crumbs. Been doing this for years and my keyboard still looks new.

The towel makes a huge difference having a nice soft surface to rest my arms, as opposed to that cold hard table top. I don't remember when or why I started using it but I know I wouldn't give it up now.

I also buy the fold top ones, for use in puppy pick ups on a walk.

Oh yes! I use them for a lot of things that have already been noted by others, plus a few of my own... Like keeping embroidery thread in them, as well as other small sewing and craft items. And the remote controls for the tv? They each stay in a little bag and thus don't get dirty or dusty. I love that keyboard idea!!! When I traveled to Mexico, knowing that the customs people might go through all my luggage, I sealed up my clothes in the large bags. Sure enough, one time I got picked for "The Search" and they could see what I'd brought without having to touch any of it. I also store out-of-season clothes in those big zip lock bags.

I use them for beads and other jewelry making supplies. I have itty bitty ones that I got at hobby lobby for the tiny bits. I also put about a tablespoon of canned pumpkin in the snack sized ones and freeze them, when my little dog gets an upset stomach and the runs I take one out let it thaw then feed her as much as I can get down her. Works wonders. You can only buy pumpkin in larger cans this way one can last a long time.
I use the snack sized ones to put lancets for my glucose meter in and keep them in my kit case.
I use them to make an ice pack, fill with crushed ice wrap a dish towel around it and good to go, or it can slide into a tube sock.
If you make a container of say ice tea or something similar and want to keep it cold while out but don't want to dilute it put the ice in a clean ziplock baggie put it in the container with the tea. They do that in places that sell pitchers of beer.
I put left over snacks like nuts, chips, crackers etc in them instead of leaving them in the original bags and trying to reseal it. I can see what it is and it stays fresh.

When we travel I put all my meds in one. I also use them for toiletries, hair products, toothbrushes in their travel cases.

I keep them in all sizes, I found some recently at big lots that were majorly reduced because they were Christmas decorated. I couldn't care less what color they are so I stocked up.
Oh I also store all the owners manuals along with the receipt together in a bag. I put software disks with associated paperwork in them and label the bags.

Our cat likes dry cat food, but he is picky in that he likes it fresh. If we've had a bag for "too long," he won't eat it. It's cheaper to buy a big bag of food than several little bags, so we bought a big bag of cat food, and then I divvied it up into gallon-sized zip-lock baggies. Now I just open a baggie, fill the food bowl, and zip the baggie closed again, squeezing out the air as the baggie is closing. Keeps the dry food fresh and our kitty can't tell how long we've had it. :-)

Oh, yes! I also use a gallon sized freezer bag for storing all of my tax info for the year. Receipts, notes about deductible contributions, 1099s, etc. Everything tax related goes into "The Bag". No scrambling, digging and searching when it is time to get everything together for my CPA.

In addition to many of what's been said I use them to pick up messy stuff, lumps or whatever, turn it inside out and toss. Keeps the hands clean. Also use it for buttering pans for baking. Again, keeps the hands clean. They hold recipe cards nicely and keeps them clean. Often things in bulky packaging is repackaged into a plastic bag to keep it from taking up as much space. When you're storing something or moving, for instance a table, when taking the legs off I put the hardware in a plastic bag and tape it to the bottom of the table. Clips and parts for holiday decorations go in plastic bags and put with the item. Manuals for appliances get put into plastic or at least a paper envelope and taped onto the back or side of the appliance.

I don't think I would ever want to be without plastic ziplock bags. I use them for most all of the things mentioned above, but being a crafter, I also use them to hold patterns//templates, a bag for each color of cardstock scraps, each ink pad and matching finger dauber is kept in a ziplock jewelry sized bag, buttons are bagged by colors. Bags hold treats for various holidays.

I keep a lot of them in my purse. They are great for bringing leftovers home from a restaurant for the dog. One in my purse holds treats that I hand out to waitresses, clerks, doctors, etc.

Two in the fridge freezer contain a wet washcloth.

On the fridge is a bag containing all of our medical information for paramedics to use in case of an emergency. The same is kept in the glove box of both cars and one is also in my purse. Very handy when going to a doctor/ER to have dates when things happened, what meds you are on, etc.

I take two shots of insulin daily. Two different doses. I don't like having to stop everything, try to juggle two dogs and a hubby while I fill needles twice a day. It seems like a little thing but trying to keep my hands, vials, and work area clean, sterile, and focused can be hard.

I've taken to filling four or five syringes of each dose when I have a few minutes of quiet time. I put the morning doses in one marked ziplock; the evening doses in the second marked ziplock, and keep them in the "butter holder" in my fridge.

It's a little thing, but it's helped me greatly.

Linda.. I do the same thing with bar mop towels... I thoroughly wet them then fold and put into the quart size bags and put in the garage freezer. My husband plays golf every day of the world. He takes a little insulated bag with his lunch, snacks etc... He grabs a couple of the bags with wet frozen towels and put them in the insulated bag also. They work wonderfully on a hot day to wipe down with.

I use one to stick a wet paint brush into, in between coats. In fact I'm doing that this weekend. There's a brush in not one but two ziplock bags - in other words, brush in one, then the whole thing stuck into another. I'm using Rustoleum and no air can get to a brush wet with oil or enamel paint. I can leave the brush in there up to several days with no worry.

I've done it longer with a brush wet with latex paint simply because I put off cleaning the darn brush. I'm bad.

I use them all the time. We save our cantaloupe seed from year to year and I store the seeds in sandwich bags. When we travel by plane I put one in my luggage with aspirin, wet ones, band aids and such. One with the small containers of febreze , wrinkle release and a tide stick. I use the gallon bags for my shampoo. condition, hair spray, comb and brush. One with my lotion, deodorant and makeup.
I rarely put a sandwich in a sandwich bag. I did when the kids were home and took their lunch to school.

I use a small bag to keep rubber bands in and another small bag to keep twisties in and put them in the kitchen "junk" drawer.

I use the medium size freezer bags for my remote control, was told to do that years ago and have ever since to keep it clean. I just wrap it up and tape it so that you can see the front.

They are fantastic when traveling so that you can use them for anything and everything and different sizes.

Lots of good ideas on here. I use a lot of them. It seems like I am always reaching for one and not for sandwiches.

I use a small one for coupons, too.

I also use the larger "zip" ones to sort hardware-type things: In one bag are picture-hanging nails/clips/3M Command hooks. In another are spare drapery holder thingies -- brackets, old finials, etc. A couple others hold other things.

I got tired of digging through a large plastic toolbox and a large Rubbermaid-type bin for things. This way, I can spot what I need before I even have to open the bags.

Also, I use the smaller zip bags to divvy up my dog's kibble servings when she's going to the dogsitter's home for a few nights when I have to be away.

Y'all have come up with some great ideas! My great idea was when the zippered coin holding compartment on the outside of my tri-fold wallet tore through from having years of change stuffed in it. The change was sliding down under the fold part and awful to dig out. A snack size ziploc in the compartment now holds all the change.

The freezer bags work well as a pastry bag.

I use them for everything.. I use the extra large ones to put my pattern in once I use them. They never fit back in the small envelope. I trace off all sizes and mark them. Works great.
