We went on vacation and came back to what you see in the pics. ugggh!

I am really confused if it is a mowing issue(dull blade), fungus, or watering..... or all the above, etc

Photos show the areas and the close ups show the different stages of brown-

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Details:

Location: St Louis, MO

Sod laid in late October of last year.

Dirt/drainage: probably a mix between dirt and clay. There are a couple areas that dont drain as well and retain water for quite a while, but those are not where the dead spots are,

Irrigation: Left it where the installer told me, M,W,F early morning.

Mowing: It got long twice in the spring (there was lots of rain this spring....monsoon I tell you), but have been cutting it on the second to highest mower setting weekly.

Sun/Shade: All the areas showing brown are full sun areas and it has been fairly hot recently, high 90's.

Fertilizer: I just applied a new lawn fertilizer in late spring

Weed prevention: I have just been spot spraying weeds directly

Thanks,

-Todd
