Today's "Ask Amy"

Anyone else see this? The first letter is from the adult daughter of an elderly woman who is being sucked into scams. What would you do in the daughter's situation?

I tend to think that, if the Mom wouldn't have fallen for these scams when she was mentally "with it", the adult kids have an obligation to prevent her from being a victim now. Even if that means she gets mad at them. Even if that means she makes good on her threat to dis-inherit them.

But, I also understand the kid's reluctance to take this route. No one likes to be on the receiving end of their parent's ire or to be viewed by outsiders as "jerks".
