Adenium seedlings - first time planting
Comments (4)They will not need to be transplanted from those cell pots for some time. They seem to be somewhat etiolated (long). They probably need more light or possibly the light source closer to seedlings. With only one seed per cell, they can stay in those until they have atleast 4-5 true leaves. I am seeing the photo fairly dark. Rick...See MoreAdenium Blooming for first time
Comments (13)Well done Rick, That is a special plant, a good basic structure and caudex, not to mention the wonderfull flowers. Just imagine what it will look like in the future as the framework of branches develops covered in blooms. Also the flower is being well supported and not drooping like some varieties. Keep us updated on its development. Brian UK....See MoreAdenium Seedling in Bloom
Comments (6)Thanks. They get moved to full sun after their first set of true leaves. I use a 15-9-12 9 month formula osmocote on the soil and feed with a mild solution of 20-20-20 water soluble about once a week. I don't fertilize when they are predicting cold cloudy weather....See MoreAdenium seedlings first bloom
Comments (8)Hi Ya'll! I havent been posting lately, that time of the year when things are alittle hectic. Hi Iowajo-No smell, but they do have to be indoors for the winter. SJP-The seedlings were in mostly full sun locations on concrete. They rec'd a balanced fert until this year added Dynomite 13-13-13 slow release fert to the mix. This seedling grew bigger and taller than its siblings. Two others are half the size and have shown no signs of blooming. I believe its not unusual for seedlings of a year old or so to bloom. I also have a seedling I started at the same time, its a cultivar of "Red Weiss". A solid red, cant wait til it blooms. There's always next year! Here is another picture I just snapped of the same plant as above. It is under HID lamps which is why the leaves are so green. Happy Holidays Everyone! Randy in Savannah...See More- 8 years ago
