Find all jpg images and photos that are saved on windows 10 computer
Comments (5)Use a photo organizer - it will rummage through and find all the images, videos and such. then you can often have it move the images to a backup and to a different directory. https://www.itechtics.com/free-photo-organizers-windows-10/...See MoreProblems with Windows 10 Narrator
Comments (0)At 80, and with congenitally twisted optic nerves as well as glaucoma, my husband's eyesight is failing faster and faster and using his eyes hurts. Online research has always been one of his greatest pleasures, so I am trying to figure out how to get Narrator to read entire Web pages--that is, we want it to read the title of a page and then the main part of any article. In spite of spending hours on this, all I have been able to get Narrator to do is to read Word docs (That was easy.). On the Web, however, it simply repeats the title over and over, sometimes along with useless info like "Windows help. Mozilla Firefox." I am appealing here in desperation. I suppose that when the worst happens, some society for the blind will help him, but meanwhile, it would take away some of his worries if he could listen to Web sites with minimal use of his eyes. Sorry if this turns out to be a repeat post. After clicking on "Next" and finding no other areas than Computer help connected to this problem, instead of finding my question posted, I was returned to the message box, and then I lost it completely while searching for a way to post....See Morewindows 10 feature update my computer started acting up
Comments (11)In Edge, clicking on three dots at upper right of screen or Alt-X sequence brings up the menu. Click on Settings, General, then scroll down, you come upon options for downloads. Where to save, and whether to have a pop-up ask what to do with a triggered download. I've long found it useful and easiest to create a first tier folder called C:\Download folder. That way, I can quickly get to anything that's been downloaded without having to click, click, click through unneeded layers with obscure names in the folder tree to get to what I want. Additionally, with Alt-X or the three dot entry method, another selection is Downloads. Click on that and you can see downloaded file history, open a downloaded file, examine the folder it is in through WIndows Explorer, etc....See MoreWindows 10 update
Comments (44)Michael, you're VERY misinformed on this topic. I spent my career working with this stuff in Silicon Valley and I know very well about how tech companies operate globally as well or better as anything else. Or, at least did until retirement. Apple is no different than any of the others in what it does and how it does that. Like most tech companies, Apple has utilized legal tactics to minimize its income in the US and other large countries, and has maximized income in low-tax jurisdictions. And has done so for many decades. If you know what you're looking at, all the information needed to understand tax posturing is available in any company's annual report. As part of its strategy as an EU member, Ireland introduced an ultra low corporate tax rate, mostly for foreign companies, as a way to encourage inward foreign investment and job creation. Tech companies, almost all the large ones, flocked to set up operations there of various kinds to take advantage of the in-EU low tax rate opportunities. Other EU members complained about the Irish incentives and so ultimately Ireland dropped its tax rates for domestic businesses too so that what was being offered to foreign companies was nothing special in its tax system. Apple has been in Ireland for decades, just like Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, HP, Dell, Google, IBM, and on and on and on. Hundreds and maybe thousands of them. A country with a population about half that of Los Angeles County that has tens and tens of thousands of employees working for companies in the tech sector. All are structured about the same way, all have intercompany transactions that are about the same, and all have a lot of income in Ireland taxed at low rates. All having accepted the proposition that the Irish Development Authority offered originally, tax savings in return for jobs. In recent years there have been countless press accounts and government investigations around the world about the legal approaches THOUSANDS of multinational companies have taken to minimize income and taxes in high tax countries. The countries don't dispute the tactics but rather grouse about the results. The publicity is leading to settlements and a scaling back of past practices. But it's the effect of basic economics - when "prices" (in this case, income taxes) are lower in one place than in another, people go for the lower prices. That will never change. Hold off on the KoolAid....See Morejrb451
