We've had a lot of rain in Gadsden, but it's been spread out enough that one downpour has time to drain off before the next one hits. We always get a river through our back yard when there's a long heavy rain, but that hasn't happened this time. Our house, thank goodness, is higher, but the sump pump in the crawl space is running a LOT. This feast-or-famine rainfall reminds me of a recent speaker at our Master Gardeners who said that averages don't mean much when you talk about rainfall. "You can have one foot in a bucket of ice water and one in boiling water and, on average, you're fine." Wish we could impound some of this Fall's rain to use next summer.

Thanks, everyone. Still not sure why not ALL the pics are showing up, but too tired to figure it out tonight. dianalo, that's actually not a Domsjo. The Domsjo is a really nice sink, but I didn't like that it sat above the counter, so we paid the extra for a Belle Foret undermount farm sink. It was pricier and necessitated modifying the base cabinet and therefore doing a curtain underneath the sink instead of doors, but I'm really happy with it. I think I like the curtain better than I would have liked the doors. As for the tin backsplash ... it's a temporary fix. I like it a lot, and may yet decide to keep it, but the plan has always been to do white subway tile 2/3 of the way up the wall (basically to the height of the range hood). But for now, it's really functional, easy to clean, and gives a little visual interest to what might otherwise be a pretty boring little kitchen. And since it's a kitchen in a 1921 house, the tin "feels" right in the same way that the subway tile will "feel" right when we get around to doing it. It was only $200 and maybe an hour of work to do. I'll try to take some better pics that encompass more of the kitchen tomorrow. There's a "hutch" on the opposite wall that wasn't included in these pics. Thanks for looking! I hope it helps. If you want pics of anything else, let me know. When we started this, NO ONE had pics of Corian Rain Cloud, so I know how scary it can be to second guess yourself and wonder if you made the right call.

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for your input. @ aloha - I agree with you 100% on Glacier White for a more modern kitchen. Since I'm going for a more traditional look, I am afraid of a potential mistep by using white. @ happylady and writersblock - I got a quote for rain cloud at lowes, but the price difference was pretty minimal (less than $100), so I'll probably go with the local design studio if I choose rain cloud. I didn't get a quote on the other brands, but they were all pretty close in price to the corian. Since our kitchen is only 24 sq ft of counters, a few dollars per sq ft doesn't make a big impact. @pricklypearcactus - thanks for your input about the sinks. I am not wild about integrated, but didn't know what everyone else thinks. @ idrive - Do you have any pictures of your counters with undermount ss? I'm trying to figure out how to post pictures. Hopefully I can get a few pictures tonight when I get home. Maybe if you see the current space, you may have additional thoughts.

Your inside lights are comparable to a cloudy day so just keep them in the greenhouse. You can lower the temperature a little and I have fans blowing mine 24-7 to keep stems a bit stronger. However, once they are leggy your options are limited. You could pot-up and plant very deep into the larger pots or you could start tip cuttings and scrap the original plant. For the rooted tip cuttings I would bring back into house for 10 days until roots are well established. When do you anticipate planting out or do you plan to keep in the greenhouse? The reason I ask is that many greenhouse owners just plan to permanently grow their vegetables in the greenhouse. Mine are in smaller benchtop greenhouse until probably later this week when they will be planted in soil of a high tunnels, tomatoes in one and peppers in another. Once planted I pay little attention to how leggy they look because they always grow out of it.
