?Where's George Bill Tracking?
Comments (21)Thank you cynic! After your response, I googled "defaceing money" and I found some very interesting stuff. Originally I used the term "legit" but now I would like to change it to "legal." I now know that it is NOT a good thing to do. Whether legal or not is still questionable because of the wording in the CODE about such matters. Here is some of what I found: ___________________________________________________________ United States Code TITLE 18 - CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE PART I - CRIMES CHAPTER 17 - COINS AND CURRENCY Mutilation of national bank obligations ?Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.? FINDLAW __________________________________________________________ The code does include the statement "with intent to render ... unfit to reissue." I'm sure this makes it very hard to procecute most cases. Some of the examples that were shown, make me realize that there are a lot of very "sick" "wierd" and "troubled" minds out there, and I would not want to ever be considdered amoung any of those groups. I'm not judging any one else, and I can see where tracking a bill could be "fun" BUT this is our Nations currency and it means something special. I don't want to be any part of defaceing it. If anyone who felt like it just added another stamp or scribble to all the dollar bills that passed their hands, our gov't would need to be replaceing them at a rediculous rate. Hey, that would be more gov't waist! We all know that gov't waist is normal behavior of the gov't, BUT I WILL NOT DELIBERATELY BE PART OF IT. I love our Nation and respect everything that represents it, that includes our money. What am I going to do with this five dollar bill that is stamped -- if I musted up the guts, I will take it over to the bank to get it replaced. Comments (18)Mwheel, they have the those devices in many states. They have it in Wisconsin at the 2nd & 3rd OWI or DUI (whatever you call it where you are from). While the devices sound like a great idea (and they are) there are a few problems with them and the main one is that the device can be started by anyone that is sober. It is not hard for a drunk to talk someone into blowing into the device for them. The other problem is that they often borrow vehicles from their friends and families that do not have the devices. In Wisconsin, the person has to have all vehicles that they have in their possession. That doesn't stop them from borrowing a vehicle from someone else and hiding it on their property. While I'm with you about giving someone heavy jail time, I know that there are more dangerous people out there and I also know that we can't really afford to put even more people in prison. It really does cost a lot of money to house a criminal. Maybe instead they could institute the device on the vehicles and another device that is hooked to their telephones that is set up so that when the device calls, they have to prove their sobriety and progressive discipline for those that decide not to follow the rules....See MoreMy young friend that's in prison
Comments (19)Sue - You hit the nail on the head. In my first post a couple of weeks ago, I did state that there are some maternal feelings towards this kid. Maybe he does need male influence, but I've always thought he needed a mother figure as well, something he hasn't had. On one of my post in the pet forum, when I was discussing us keeping his dog, I mentioned about how bad I felt for this kid when he got a Xmas card from his mom. He hadn't heard from her in a couple of years. He actually called me soon as he got home from work just to tell me that he had gotten the card. So, yeah... I wish I could be there for him like I was my own son, but the problem is, I know my son a little better than I do this kid, thus, possibly what to expect or mostly, what concerns to have. As far as calling, he's only called the one time, and because I sent the message that he could. I told him he can call me again when he finds out when he'll get released. The gf and those kids... I have taken her a couple of times to run errands and to the Dept of SS. She's getting foodstamps, but I think I had already mentioned that. Why do people do such stupid things to ruin their lives and the lives of their families????...See MoreMistrial for Cosby
Comments (30)Things that make a jury trial difficult: #1 term limits. It is HORRID there is a time line for prosecution. The damage he did did not go away with time why should his responsibility? In the cases of the Roman Catholic Church scandals many term limits were suspended. How can they exist at all anymore?!! They should all be ABOLISHED. #2 RAPE IS RAPE is not a universally accepted state of being. recreational drug use, women trading their bodies for favors, date rape where the woman says no WAAAAY too late...are all facts of lives that bring doubts to this situation. #3 It is SUSPECTED some of these woman only cried RAPE because Cosby didn't follow through with his end of the trade:sex for career favors. Fact is the casting couch is live and well in that industry and women are aware of what it takes to get a head. WRONG on every level but women have been complicit in this for GENERATIONS!!! We have screwed ourselves ladies!!!! #4 This jury took its mandate to heart (to only deal with THIS complaint). I would not have. The sheer number of accusations and years this has been going on convict him FOR ME. Camille is a schmuck. Money, lifestyle, didn't know/believe ALL THAT gets wiped out for me when the number of abused hits DOUBLE DIGITS!!! The only solace in this is that his career/reputation/residuals is at an end. I guess that is something....See More- 11 years ago
