New thread about ficus Benjamina

I decided to start a new thread rather than hijacking Katie's... I am not sure if Al was referring to my tree on her thread click here if interested

I
guarantee it COULD become a believable bonsai. Did you see the before
and after pictures of the benjamina I started working 2 years ago?

Al, I am not sure which tree you are referring to, if you find time - could you post a link or a photo?

As you know I followed root pruning and re-potting of my tree, what I didn't do was significant canopy reduction that I was planning to do year after (life gets in a way sometimes).

Trunk had increased slightly, it is 11" circumference at the base and 6.5" circumference 33" higher where it splits into 2 branches - over all, tree is still 'only' 8feet tall (from the soil), I think it grew wider. I have taken off few branches by air-layering, otherwise it is same as it was...So I really didn't think it may be a potentialy a bonsai - maybe smaller tree (5' or so?)

I know from reading that much bigger and older trees could be worked 'miracles' with but I don't have that knowledge and definitely lack the vision...
