Well, I already had two stamps on it and I asked the clerk to check to see if I had enough postage on it. He said no even before he weighed it. He said it was a parcel. I said apparently you didn't get the memo. He said I go by what my book tells me and proceeded to read me the same old stuff they always tried to go by. I said I know all that stuff already and this memo says that it is wrong. He said that he would have to talk to his supervisor and then continued to try and tell me that if it varied in thickness by more than 1/4" it was a parcel. I read him the requirements from the memo and told him that he needed to get the supervisor for me. Finally he got the supervisor and the supervisor read the post that you put on here and said, "Yes, that's right." He told the clerk that it should be a large envelope and the clerk was still babbling on about the 1/4" difference in size. The supervisor said that from now on cushion mailers under 3/4" in thickness would go as a large envelope. I asked him if he would like to keep the post and he said no that he would print out the memo and make sure that everyone understood it. I don't think that they were any to happy. I had to pay an extra penny in addition to the stamps that I already had on it but that's better than $1.13. Hopefully that battle is won but I'm keeping the post with me when I go back.

Thank you all for the great ideas. Sorry, it takes me awhile to get back to the computer. I'm thinking Garden Chicken's tecnique on the partially cured 'tufa might be the best way to go for a first project. She does want to write more than just the horse's name and dates so trying to do it on wet tufa might be pushing it. Leigh, those foam rubber letters reversed in the bottom of the mold would probably be great if she weren't going to need multiples of some letters. Marley, your mold making instructions came up when I did a search. I told my neighbor about the talented person who carves letters out of POP and makes her own silicone mold and she started thinking maybe a wooden cross might be OK. Of course this was after also explaining why If she wanted to have rebar sticking out the bottom to stand it in the ground instead of making the stone longer she should coat with epoxy. :-) For the recipe I'll probably use 1 cement,1 1/2 sand, 1 sifted peat, and 1/2 vermiculite. Right now the size is 1ft x 2ft x 3in. Were're hoping this won't be TOO heavy. We should probably try a small test batch first to practice carving. Sure wish I had a dremel. Sorry I can't promise pictures :-( That's one reason I don't post about my projects cuz I know how disappointing it is when there aren't any pictures. I did try awhile ago. My son finally brought his digital camera over and I took some pictures...then after several tries he finally brought the right CD over for downloading from the memory card. Afterwards our cpmputer was all messed up and spent 3 weeks at 'puter Dr.'s house....ended up having to order a new mother board... he said it wasn't our sons fault-just a coincedence but I'm not real anxious to let him try again. It sure is frustrating being computer illiterate. packrat2

Well this is exactly what I wrote: Hello! We would first like to say that we appreciate your offer on our house. It is a great house with so many little extras that you just won't see in most other homes. We know you have looked over the list of features. We would like to point out what it was that sold us on the house when we bought it that made it such a great value. The hardwood floors, 9 ft ceilings & skylights - really add tons of light especially when it seems like the sun will never come out, upgraded appliances, 2700+ square feet - feels huge compared to the rest, central air(!), and extra storage in garage are the features we appreciated (and miss) the most. These are the the things that will really hold their value for resale in the future if you were to move (at any other time than now). : ) Looking at our price/sq. foot we are much lower that most of the houses on the market and all the upgrades make it an extra value. We can't forget to mention that the neighbors are really great. The neighbors on either side have been so good to watch over the house and water the yard for us. If it were not for all of our family being here in the midwest, we could have seen our family live there very comfortably without outgrowing that house, and we have three children. Anyway, it's a hard decision, we know. Thanks for considering our home. Best regards, I'm not sure it had any barring on negotiations. I was trying to explain why we not willing to just take their offer, even though I was feeling desperate. I definitely wanted them to know what our house offered that the other did not without specifically dogging on the other house. After reading everyone's comments I am not sure I would do do it again. Although I would have appreciated receiving the little info on the neighbors and the things I may have overlooked. Even though I really think they knew our house was a better fit/buy but just wanted to rattle us into taking less. In the end they came up a bit and we came down. It's over and now we can finally work on building a new house in our new town/state.

How about trying this: In the Upper Left Corner of Outlook.com there is a Square with 9 Smaller Squares in it, click on it. Chose Word Online and Type your document for there! There is a Print Icon in the Tool Bar over towards the left or you could chose File on the Tool Bar to the Right and chose Print form the list! Hopefully you have this option on your computer and it's not just something I have! I have Either Office 2007 Professional or Business on this Laptop and my wife's has the other. On my Tablet I have Office 2013 Home and Student and then on my Phone I have ? but it has Word, Excel, OneNote, OneDrive and maybe something else. Maybe one of those Office packages has installed this Icon and given me access to these programs online, I'm not sure. If you have it, give it a try, it may be much easier for you! BTW, I know I don't have Office 365 on any of my devices!
