Need Help with Excel Spreadsheet and Recommendations for Keyboard

I am not very good with initiating
an Excel spreadsheet, but am great with copying and pasting one. I have run
into a problem, have done research, but can't find an answer. The problem is: I
have a column with a drop-down menu box in it. The current drop-down menu
contains two selections of numbers. What I want is a drop-down box with two
selections - one being Y and one being N. The columns I selected from another
spreadsheet had the Y/N selections, but for some reason when I pasted it into
the new spreadsheet the Y/N changed to $800 each. Can any of you advise how to
change those $800s to Y and N, please.

The recommendation is need is
for a new keyboard. Currently have the Microsoft ergonomic keyboard which I
really like. However, the "painted letters" are wearing off the keys.
In fact, some of the keys no longer have letters on them. Would like
recommendations for keyboards that don't have this problem. I would guess my
keyboard is about 4-5 years old. This is the very first time I have had this
experience with a keyboard. Some of the other keyboards I had many years
without this fading away happening.

I'm not an Excel User, wish I could help you there!

I use only Logitech Keyboards and have never had a number fading problem. Not sure what kind of Keyboards are in Laptops but I've never had a problem with them either. On my Desktop Computer I have a Logitech Combo the MX5500. This is a Bluetooth Combo and the best Keyboard/Mouse Combo I've ever used. I also purchased a Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard for my Android Tablet, this keyboard (even though specifically for an Android) works with my new Acer Iconia W4-820 Windows 8.1 Tablet. I've never used the Ergonomic Keyboards but Logitech also make those. I believe the 2.4GHz Wireless MK550 is the model number of their Ergonomic Keyboard/Mouse Combo. They also have the 2.4GHz Wireless K350 Keyboard and the Wireless Trackball M570 paired together as a Combo. If it were me I would spend a little more and purchase the MX800 Keyboard/Mouse. I like the feel of the Mouse that come with the combo. It has Darkfield and can be used on almost any surface (glass, mirrors, Blue Jeans, etc...).

Another thing might be to save the original to your computer with a different name (so you don't get confused about which one you've worked with) then look at the formula for those cells. Just highlight the cell and look up at the formula bar. Aside from that, you might try Microsoft, although it would be a pay call and I am unsure whether they are open on weekends.

Thank you for all the excellent responses! I wondered if sharpening myself was an option too. Good to know I can. Kudzu, I need it mostly to break thru the sod to start new garden beds and then into rocky clay. My Pennsylvania sod wasn't even an issue . However this feels similar to trying to cut thru carpet with a butter knife. Every shovelful seems to have a rock or two. Then in the middle of summer the clay is hard and dry and even more difficult ! I need to work on my beds now while it's rainy enough to make it workable . Tractor supply is a favorite place to stop by so I will look there. I'm reading about the king of spades place too. Frankielynn I am excited to go to our nashville garden show ! So fun. Lots of goodies! Eta : Frankie , the reviews for this spear head shovel seem to be very favorable . Will it cut thru the sod too ? That's the hardest part . I think I may order it from amazon . Stacey; you should always expect that you could do what you are asking for with Excel. The simple way with what you already had was just to highlight your graph (select it) and then cut it and then paste it to the second sheet. That is in fact probably the best way to do such a thing because it allows you to immediately see if the graph you made is really what you wanted. Then move it away from the data. However, instead you could have gone to the second sheet and asked for a graph and then bounced back to the first sheet to highlight the data and it would then appear in the new graph. The first method is much better in this case, but people who work with multiple sheets just reach into various sheets (even on different workbooks) to grab the cells that they need by typing '=' and then moving to the needed sheet and highlighting the data. That is how Excel works. BTW, I'm not clear on why you felt it necessary to view the graph on a separate sheet. If the graph was too big and hiding the data, just select the graph and shrink it by pushing a corner closer to another edge.

Bugspop: I used to have a Logitech keyboard and mouse that I liked very well; the ergonomic replaced it. Perhaps it is just the Microsoft keyboards that have the fading/erasing problem - this is the first Microsoft keyboard I have had. Thanks for the recommendations.

I'm a Logitech keyboard fan. I love the typing response so if I have to replace a keyboard...I try to find the same Logitech model. But I've noticed lately that the letters on each key are decals. Long gone are the indented/scribed letter keyboards and I miss them. A cost cutting factor by the manufacturer...no doubt. I do a lot of writing so the decal keys wear thin very quickly. I found some self-adhesive letters at Staples that are small enough to stick on the Logitech key faces. They're normally used for art layout paste up work but are ideal for my keyboard and this particularly annoying problem. Even though I'm a very rapid touch typist...I still need those visual aids. :-)

I consider myself to be an Excel expert but I essentially work with standard classic methods. I also find that as Excel has upgraded and has to deal with newer external programs, that I can't always even get started. However, I suspect that if you haven't gotten help at the link above, that I can probably answer your question. However, I actually didn't really understand your question. Are you talking about two columns that are actually the n and yth excel columns, or are the y and n names a line and slope formula, or some division or something else totally?

And if I happened to guess correctly: was the problem simply that you somehow selected 'paste values' rather than 'paste formulas', or paste everything which might be expected?
